Title: Trouble in Rome

If this was English fans causing trouble then we'd probably be banned from the world cup, fined and be stopped from travelling etc. Yet hardly anything seems to be done when it's other countries. It makes me sick how they can get away with it.

The Italians probably stab you in a stylish way, so it's ok.

This kind of shit does my nut in,it seems to happen every week in Italy and nothing is ever done about it :x .The monkeys in charge of the game need to sort it out,Sepp Blatter seems to come up with a stupid idea to change the game every week but when it comes to the important stuff he's no where to be seen.Stupid stocking loving Swiss meat head :x .

It's been a big problem in Italy for years now, although I thought they had begun to curb it in recent seasons.

You're having a laugh arent you!, their trouble gets worse every year.

Just last year when watching the Inter Vs Juve game the commentator said that rival fans had clashed just before kick off using Chains,Knives etc.

I'm not sure,i just remembered it happened.I think the Inter fans got the CL game against Milan abandoned last season, and their punishment for that was to play behind closed doors, until last night anyway :-))(
I guess part of the problem is the English do have a [deserved ]reputation, the Roma fans probably thought all the Boro fans would be up for it.Still no real fucking excuse,FIFA/UEFA won't do anything because they are pussies too scared to upset the major clubs.Hopefully no one else gets hurt.

If there were any English club up for it then id say it would be Boro' they've got quite a well known Hoolie firm.  :|

Dude again I don't think it's been confirmed that they were Roma fans who did this.  "Italian thugs" seems to be the term I've seen being used.

While there's still a chance that this could be the work of the nasty lazio facists.

Unfortunately as some of you will no doubt find out in the summer...English football fans are now seen as fair game and not up to much by continental rivals...many years of draconian government action has reduced the previous bulldog....to a cuddly puppy type creature...

In the first game, the commentator said that this was the greatest result in Boro's long history. Why do they have 1986 on their badge? 20 years isn't that long a history! :-))(

Its stupid how people get their kicks. Stabbing people has to be the most ridiculous thing I have heard of in "football" yet it seems to happen so often.

Had it been three Roma fans being stabbed in England then we would probably be kicked out of European competition again despite the fact that almost nothing serios has happened of that sort in years

I heard that the Police stood back and watched as the Ultra's started on the Boro fans and then when the Ultra's left, the Police waded in on the Boro fans.

Sometimes there is some kind of sporting justice, well done Boro :D .Quite honestly though if Italian fans are going to do this kind of shitty stuff every time they shouldn't be allowed to play in Europe, fuckers.Though as Jan said we don't know if its Roma fans wot did it,but all England fans get lumped together,we're all scum of the earth apparently, so they are too :x Apart from Sampdoria of course

I think the 1986 on their badge is due to the fact they almost went bust then, seem to remember Ayresome Park was locked shut for a while. Like most clubs they managed to just pull through, got promoted from Div 3 with us and Bournemouth in 87 and built from there.

The game at the CG v Boro...was a classic which doesn't often get recalled...Boro had a very tidy side for Div 3....with fellas like Pallister and Ripley who went on to play for England ...Tony Mowbray and Colin Cooper who both played a long time at a high level and the legendary Bernie Slaven.

Just to prove they were in fact lower league they had ex Melksham striker Archie Stephens up front.

The crowd at the CG was about 3000 bigger than that at Ayresome Park, around 12,000....and the side led by Calderwod showed its fighting spirit to hold on to a Chalkie first half goal.
