Post by: Tails on Saturday, February 25, 2006, 21:09:34
...And didn't leave before the end of the game - give yourselves a massive pat on the back. We were fucking superb. Best fans in England.

I spoke to Walrus for the first time aswell today, what an honour it was  :D

I didn't go.

Thinking of getting pissed now; it is very tempting. I have some cans of SA and home made ale.

I'm drinking wine. Supposed to be going out in a minute but really can't be bothered. Might just make a brief cameo appearance in the pub.

I wouldn't bother. I think I'll just get progressively more pissed here.

What's the point in leaving early? Surely the fun would have been had watching the players' reaction to 1200 fans chanting their hearts out?!

That would learn 'em!

the players didnt deserve to be clapped off, infact the opposite they should have stayed on the pitch and clapped us out. We performed better than they did

^^^^^^^^^^^^I agree with what dave_m_russell said  ^^^^^^^^^^^

There came a point, 4 or maybe 5-0 that it was time to say "fuck it" and have a laugh. Yes we were actually so bad we became funny. And it's hard to claim it is anything other than 'easy easy easy' when you get dicked 7-1.

Id say everyone who went made it the best they could.  Everyone was singing, cheering and doing the most positive thing that could have been done.  Credit to everyone.

Fuck this, when we were 3-0 down the away fans started to cheer the forest, fucking joke, I expect the 11 players to fight to wear the town shirt, id say only cureton was still trying in the 88th minute.  Im disgusted by it all.  Seeing town fans laughing when the 6th and 7th goal went in sickened me.

Didnt even show up.  Big improvement needed and fast.  Also this forum is riddled by the most fickle fans I have ever seen.10 days ago people were saying yeah were safe, iffy is a king etc etc, bollocks now your all saying we are doomed! STILL FUCKED OFF

To do anything else would be admitting the reality of it all.

Underneath I don't think there was a town fan that was not appalled at the gutless wonders.

I agree. What's so fucking heroic about staying until the end if you're getting totally crapped on. When I think we're in with a chance I will always stay but once the third/fourth/fifth or whatever goes in and we're not even making a fight of it, I'm out of there sunshine!

If people want to stay then good for them, but I'm no masochist!

So has this back slapping fest finished yet?

Title: Everyone who went today...
Post by: Asher on Monday, February 27, 2006, 11:48:59
agreed yeovil.  Fucking joke.  I stayed cos my lift stayed, if I was driving I would have left 10 mins into second half like the lads did in their bus

Title: Everyone who went today...
Post by: walrus on Monday, February 27, 2006, 11:49:47
Certainly not Yeovil, I thought we were ace.  That is the first time I've ever not been angry by a defeat, as we were simply so far off the pace it wasn't true.  I thought the fans chanting stuff like "we're gonna win 8-7" and "is it 6 or 7" is making the best of a bad situation - oddly enough I enjoyed the game, maybe I'm just a masochist!  I was still convinced at half time that we could get a draw, but then Tails and SY probably thought I was a bit nutty....   :D

I get fucked off when people criticise others who leave early i.e you cant leave 2 minutes early in the Town End without some twats starting the 'Loyal supporters' chant  :wanker: if  you've paid your money then i think you've got a right to leave whenever you want.

Title: Everyone who went today...
Post by: RobertT on Monday, February 27, 2006, 13:12:10
I would have stayed till the end if I could of afforded to go.  But only because I would have been so paralysed by what I was seeing that I wouldn't be able to move.

I don't mind if people leave early, especially if they are going to a pub to make the memory of what they did see vanish.

Well played to those that carried on, but I'll take any fan right now, nno matter how many minutes they've seen us play.

Leaving early when we are shit is one thing.

But leaving early just to beat the traffic I'll never understand. Especially in a tght game. Particularily at the CG when we only have 5000 in.

Yeah agree completely.

I completely understand why ppl left early at forest though.

Loads of people left when we were 3-2 down at Rotherham............could easily have scored a few in that time....surely part of the entertainment in a match is last minute events/match winners etc!!!!  Classic example, Colchester on boxing day.

You always get a few people who turn up at five past three, leave to go for a tea/piss/whatever 5 minutes before half time, get back to their seats five minutes into the second half and leave five minutes before the end - regardless of the score.

Unbelievable!

I left at half time once, cant remember the game but we were 2-0 down it was cold and wet and I couldnt be fucked with it.I went to the pub and had a very enjoyable couple of pints. Before the last couple of seasons I always left early.

I'll leave when I like,I pay my money its my choice what difference does it make to any other?  I hate the self rightous especially when its something so petty.Your welcome to stay there all night if you want doesnt mean I have to.

 whoops, although i dont usually leave before the end unless we're piss poor.

I can remember a few years back i used to walk into the ground just as Bart was making a blunder to put the opposition 1-0 up.

I have never left a football match early. However Yeovil is correct, you pay your money, you choose whether you want to stay or not. That said, it does piss me off when loads of folk are filtering away at the same time and I am trying to watch the game!

In the olden days, didn't you used to be able to get in at half time for a reduced rate?

you had to laugh or you'd cry.

i didn't enjoy it in the slightest but when it reaches a certain point, it becomes so futile that you can't do anything but stand there in complete disbelief.

Why? You aren't forced to go.

Eight goals ain't bad entertainment after all.
