Title: Sobriety Post by: flammableBen on Friday, February 24, 2006, 11:34:23 Because of some mad hepatitis-bird-flu-aids style disease I've somehow managed not to drink any alcohol since sunday (actually I think I may have had a pint of guiness on monday, but only because I thought I was just hungover and it might help sort out my sore throat). This new found sobriety has come as a bit of a revelation. The world seems more real and less fuzzy.
After some quick reflection I've decided that this is in no way a good thing, I like my world soft and blurry. So now that I feel well enough to get out of bed I have one goal only. Now all I need to find are some drinking buddies. Could be a problem as it's 10am, half my house mates have fucked off for the weekend and one of the remaining ones is a hardworking chap who'll probably be on campus all day. Think I might have to revise my goal a bit to get drunk this afternoon / early evening... Look at me, I've turned into some sort of snob, thinking I'm above morning solo drinking. I'm becoming everything I hate. I'll consider my options over breakfast me thinks. Title: Sobriety Post by: STFC Village on Friday, February 24, 2006, 11:40:50 Decided to go out at the last minute last night, and actually had rather a good time in Oxford :o Only had 5/6 drinks, didn't want to go too heavy, as i'm getting lashed tonight in Nottingham 8)

Title: Sobriety Post by: walrus on Sunday, February 26, 2006, 18:35:19 I love you Ben, I look to you as a sort of Internet Father Figure.
Village - where'd you go in Nottingham? Went to Ocean, where I managed to get in a fight in the queue. Miraculously I still got in, though found it a bit tame... That's the second time today on this forum that someones said they love me. Never been called a father figure before though. I can't be more than 2 years older than you walrus. Title: Sobriety Post by: walrus on Sunday, February 26, 2006, 18:54:27 I'm 19.... Meh I only look 12 I'm sure you could pass! I'd be worried about all the loving though, we're moving back to a forum love-in after Fatbury and Sonic's lover's tiff!

Title: Sobriety Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, February 26, 2006, 19:08:20 it's all good. I prefer forum loving to forum bitchiness. Some of the "who's to blame" arguments on the matchday threads reek of repressed homosexuality.

Yeah, that's where i ended up :?Title: Sobriety Post by: flammableBen on Monday, February 27, 2006, 07:08:31 I somehow managed to completely lightweight it last night. Had to go home after 3/4 of a bottle of wine and 5 cans of kroney. Think my body might be making some sort of last anti-alcohol rebel alliance. I'm teaching it a lesson though. Just woke up and I'm gonna hit the can's again. 5.50am. That's got to be an early start record.

I find that after a spending a bit of time off the booze he same happens to me, although I kinda know it's coming so take it a little easy to start with. The good thing to come out of it is the lack of hangover in the morning though. |
