Sky interviewed Joey Beauchamp a couple of years ago and he talked about his short spell at West Ham and then at Swindon, and his problems with depression:

It's always sad when you hear about a former player dying so young. I was actually excited about him signing for us when he did and was disappointed when he left, especially as he went for such a piffling amount and that it was Oxford that profited from it. He was one of those players that (some) fans want to do well and it was a pity it never worked out for him at Town. Having said that, I can't deny I enjoyed the game when he came back to the County Ground and was given a hot reception by the players and fans. It certainly made up for the previous game at their place when he gleefully knocked in their third goal in front of us.....

Realise I saw his last goal for Town, never popular at Town but from my limited engagement with him in a pub in Oxford, seemed a nice chap.

His memoir is a really good read. Funny yet harrowing. He wasn't a great person, but admitted so.

Mark Lanegan

Bloody hell, I was only listening to recent his collab with Joe Cardamone (Dark Mark & Skeleton Joe) the other day - Traction/Manifesto. It literally only released a few days ago!

That's caught me off god. Listening to the lyrics now it's eerily accurate. Hope Cardamone can eventually bring himself to take this album on a form of posthumous tour.

Sleep well Lanegan  Sad
