computer video help

thick as shit me. i have a promo video stored on my computer a mp4. and i can place it on a dvd-r. but will it play back in normal dvd players? it plays on a laptop once you have clicked on it. help? what do i do?

I think it depends whether your DVD player will play DVD-R and DVD-RW?  I'm no expert but I think as a rule the more expensive players are more capable at playign different discs?
