Going to see AFL game this weekend, Melbourne V Adelaide at the MCG (mainly just so I can see the MCG to be honest!) However just wondering if anyone has ever been to an AFL game, whether its any good and definitely worth going as its bloody freezing at the moment and will require purchasing scarf and gloves   !

i've been to one at the MCG, was a bit quiet, and the team songs they play before the game are rubbish. It's a long match - take something to do unless its a cracker of a game!

I went to the SCG and the Telstra in Melbourne - I loved it, saw the Sydney swans parade the grand final trophy, and then lose.  And then COllingwood V Kangaroos which was ace - the fans are just like our fans - always blaming the ref etc - although I always felt a little uneasy with the lack of segregation in terms of the way people were mad passionate but sat next to their hated rival.

Was it a bit like Roman times with Colly togged up as a gladiator?
