Title: 'Sack the board'
Post by: Panda Paws on Saturday, September 24, 2005, 17:51:08
A shamble. An utter shambles.

That's the first time I've been in ages when I felt that not just the ground was lifeless, but the game was too.  The players seemed disinterested, the crowd seemed disinterested, and we were finally undone by a 40-year-old twat.

Five in a row now, and surely now is the time for the board to react. When Gary Johnson took the City job he said he'd read the club forum before and noted that he was a popular choice with the fans - now it's time for Sandy Gray, Bob Holt, Willie Carson and Andy King to do the same. Hear what we say, you are ruining this club.

We've got a bunch of players who now don't seem capable of getting us out of trouble, we've got a manager who is so 'down' he won't even conduct media interviews after the game.  It's too much of a risk to find out how much of a fighter he is - if we leave this any longer we are going to start to drift from the bottom pack and we WILL end up in League Two.  If we end up in League Two attendances will drop and we'll go bust faster than we are going now.

What do we do?

1, Sack King
2, Sack Sandy Gray
3, Employ a chief exec who knows what they are doing - we are in desperate trouble now
4, Bring in a manager who will stabilise things - keep us in League One. This might cost some money now, but you are now faced with the choice of dying slowly over this season or spending a little cash and keeping the fans - the people that pay (albeit part of) the clubs income.  I don't care for the arguments of affordability - Seton Wills' pockets are deep enough and if plans for the stadium actually work this time, we will have a profitable club.

What happens if you do nothing?

This club will die!

This is a dark, desperate time for this club.  For the love of God, you, the board, are in charge.  DO SOMETHING BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!

Rant over.

I'm glad it wasnt just me who was numb for that game, complete lack of feeling at all....even at 1-0 up it always seemed like defeat was on the cards..

That was the least I've ever celebrated a goal - ever... Until Fallon's second when I didn't even get out of my seat.  Fucking awful. Fucking fucking awful.  I've just got home and I'm so fucked off the first thing I did was cracked open and beer and drank most of it straight down. I'm depressed.

Yup me too, I didn't celebrate on the first goal, even though rory fallon came and dived straight infront of me, he looked at me to say "why aint you celebrating?", I just knew we were gonna' get beat.

I stayed behind for the protest too, we needed more lads though.

P.S. Kingy did a runner from the club shop!

Can't our board take a hint. I went over the watch the protest (well done lads, by the way) ... and heard on the radio almost as I got back in the car that Gray, Holt and Wills had fucked off home.  What happened to the days of emergency board meetings???  The day McMoan (or was it Quinn - I can't remember) got sacked they all met up and sealed his fate then - this feels so much worse.

GO NOW FOR FUCK'S SAKE!

If he's still here ... I can't see us winning on Tuesday. No chance. Franchise we MIGHT scrape something.  Still in the same situation then, I'll be leading the chants!!!!

Maybe - but it just seems cheap.  We help pay their wages and they won't even answer to us.

Patrick Collins and his bird came out and someone shouted over did she have any vacancies, she smiled but Patrick Collins looked a bit pissed off, he was shouting something back at us but could hardly hear him.

I can pretty much confirm it isn't J1mmy. Jeff goes to my college.

There's no justification needed. All you are doing is harming the club, just making sure no decent manager will even want to come here and that the players won't want to play for us. If that's what you want well done.

You are doing more harm to us than Andy King has ever done. If you really believe King has caused harm to us in 5 years then you have no understanding of the reality at the club, the opposite is true. We probably wouldn't even have survived this long. The money we made from Parkin was hugely important.

Lets hope we survive another 5 years but you're certainly not helping.

Title: 'Sack the board'
Post by: sonicyouth on Saturday, September 24, 2005, 18:46:44
The money we made from Parkin hasn't helped whatsoever, it was a nice profit but it's like trying to stop a leak with a sponge.

King is not responsible for keeping us going, he's helped - to an extent - but if we continue as we are, we'll get relegated and the club's future will be plunged into more doubt than ever before.

Title: 'Sack the board'
Post by: STFC Jeffrey on Saturday, September 24, 2005, 18:48:40
So, with King in charge, fans staying away and boycotting the games till he's gone, that's helping?

No it's not. I went today because I love the club and don't want the club to die, that's why i'm seeing sense like the others and want to get Andy King out of this football club.

I refuse to stay away and watch my club die. I go and I pay, so I'm entitled to make my point known - end of the story.

Fans aren't going because we're losing, simple as that so if we continue losing with another manager which we may well do, nothing will change.

Yes it will. Getting rid of Andy King will unite the fans once again, fans will return, I'm not saying thousands but gates will rise.

Can't you see the majority of fans want King out? Open your eyes and look.

Also bringing a Town legend in like Lou Macari or Shaun Taylor will also help! We need the lift and the time has come for Andy King.

Open your eyes! Have you not seen this before.

The club was dying before Andy King even got here, then Brady and Donegan hammered in a few more nails to the coffin, King pulled a few out but perhaps couldn't stop the tide.

So please talk sense and don't try and make out Andy king is 100% to blame for everything ever.

Associating King with any sort of financial assistance to the club is ludicrous considering he was taking us to cleaners while we were in administration hence his re-appointment.

I’m sick of it and I wouldn’t care if we appointed either Jan Molby or Bobby Gould both would be a ten fold improvement on King and lest we forget these pair of jokers have achieved far more than King has ever done in management.

It’s not just the current situation it’s year on year we seem to plummet to these depths and it’s not healthy for the club, fans and long term future.

Attendances are dropping because of results and I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever that’s down to the manager’s inability.

I can't quite help but think that the past few years have been the Sam Parkin show with a few supporting lead actors and an unspectacular enable of bit players.  No player should ever be defined as bigger than a club or the side however I do wonder if one player has been head and shoulders over a certain manager’s regime.

If he doesn’t do the decent thing on Monday and walk or the board don’t sack the man then external protests seem like the only way to go.

Dazzza that is irrelevant any manager would've done the same in the same position. Associating King with helping the club financially is far from ludicrous but in fact absolutely true.

Without the Parkin money the club would've been wound up as we'd have no way of paying this summers cva payment.

To suggest Jan Molby or Gould would be an improvement is laughable and I can't believe you seriously think they've achieved more than King.  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: If by an achievement you mean sending Kidderminster down to the conference then sure.

Talk sense.
