Jonny Williams preferred position is through the middle.
Notwithstanding Saturday surely bringing him alongside Wakeling could have been a game changer when Gills went down to 10.
At least he was prepared to side step a few Defenders.

Lindsey would have to look up first before making a tactical switch which could have won the game!

Ref for Saturday is Peter Wright. Last reffed us for our 2-1 away FA cup win at Walsall.

                     Brynn
Lavinier MacDonald Clayton Blake-Tracey
            Reed Khan Gladwin
                   Williams
            Jephcott Wakeling

For me. Tempted by Darcy ahead of Williams, but think Williams' ceiling is higher if we can get him playing well.

Haven't seen Khan play that well tbh, was fairly decent at Stockport.

Fair on Darcy, maybe Darcy for Williams but as post says William's ceiling is higher.

Interesting, for me Khan has been out best midfielder so far in almost every game for me.

Constantly harrying the opposition and playing a few good passes and making some great interceptions, his final ball at times is a bit loose but hes improving every game alongside better players than he has played with so far.

Wouldn't have a problem with JoeM's selection.

Could be that the most experienced midfield will be needed on Saturday with Darcy & Khan as good options off the bench.

I would go Darcy for Gladwin in that line up, otherwise looks good.

My Newport Mate coming down not confident, I’m not confident.
Got a 0-0 all over it.

Would be magical to just bloody win.⚽️

I want to see a game without Gladwin, I’m still not convinced he is good for the overall team. Last weekend was a case in point, against 10 men you want to play fast paced football not the one paced game you get with Gladwin.

I do not think we can play Gladwin and Williams in the same team, not from kick off.

Reed is utterly wasted in our team, no point in playing him.

I'd have to go with:

Brynn
Livinier
Blake-Tracey
MacDonald
Clayton
Khan
Darcy
Williams/Gladwin - switch at 60 mins
Shade
Wakleing
Jephcott

I really don't want to have to play Shade, but it is that or three central defenders and we looked worse when we did that.  Shade offers little for me and I don't see him changing much.  I reckon he is one of those players who looked this way five years ago and stood out at Academy level as a result, but as he got older everyone else progresses or you have to move to first team football.  Hopefully I am wrong.

There are three players in that team that I'd prefer to be a back-up right now, but nobody is ahead of them in the pec king order to play 4-3-3.  It should still be good enough to get results, not sure it would get promoted though.

Shade could grow into the roving role across a front three.
If he's encouraged to take people on & get some shots away then he may well come good.

Has a chance to impress before RH-M is ready for first team selection.
