What does Kiely actually do and how did he come onboard, was that publicised?

exactly my point! it was probably explained on a podcast!

I'm not saying it's dodgy or anything like it mind. Just odd. He's not in the Whose Who on the website either so no idea of role. not even sure he's employed by the club

but transparency doesn't mean tell everyone everything at all times.

I wouldn't expect a running commentary on the manager appointment.

I would about certain other things though. financials are pretty transparent. Things like (initially) the kerachi thing and Kiely suddenly appearing in the program less so

Austin signing and then 3 days later reporting it too.

As well as “we have agreed for Crawley to talk to Lindsey and will not be making any further comment until legalities are sorted,” but continuing social media presence.

Some weird, non-transparent activity last 2 months

I can only assume they got that one wrong and won't repeat it (the blackout).

They were going to get questions anyway. To not promote games is just wrong.

But benefit of the doubt, hopefully they've learned from it

Why are 90% of football fans so fucking needy? Because that’s what it boils done too. I include myself in that at times.
Name me any other business where customers want an update every hour of what’s going on behind the scenes.

I think the management structure is just very new to the whole thing, and we miss Danny Lee.  He was only really head of Commercial but seemed to be al over the shop, especially as an outsider these days, I saw his presence a lot.

In your opinion.

I'd be interested to hear the process that's taken place, especially as the last HC was appointed after a similar timescale without an interview. Just a brief overview of the process thats been undertaken and the reason they took their time in coming up with the appointment they end up going with. Would allay nagging concerns that both I and others have that the people running the show dont know their arse from their elbow.

All points back to the fact there isn't a medium/long term plan published anywhere, despite us being told its coming for the last 18 months, to help understand why decisions are being made.
Very true, problem with that now is no matter what the club say they will not be believed. They tod fans their process with Lindsey, no one believes them

Because the answer they gave was silly.

edit:  I don't think I ever gave an opinion on the recruitment of Lindsey to be honest, but even as someone generally pretty happy clappy as Reg would have said about me, there isn't an alternative Universe where Lindsey is the "best" man for the job.

Expect a meltdown tomorrow when the 2 players predicted to leave, do!

And no new head coach/manager named.
All will be OK , new coach next week, money in the bank and some good players to be signed next week.

But if it's what happened what else can they say?  Agree the decision was fucking stupid and the outcome was silly but they explained the process and people don't believe them

"we spoke to Lindsey and he gave us a really compelling interview about why he should be given the opportunity to cut his teeth at this level, plus he brings a degree of continuity to what was a very successful team last season given where we started in August.  We want to repay the faith he has shown in us and we are confident that our improved recruitment structure will help support Lindsey in the coming season.  We ask all our fans to get behind Lindsey and the team as we look to push on in 2022 and 2023 towards our aim of promotion."

Something like that.

I don't believe them if it helps back up your point DMC 😁

But even if I'm right I hardly expect them to say "he was always 4th best for the job, and after the first three fell through...."

Now, if the club was any good at trolling, they could announce a new commercial deal with Barnes Coaches.
