Title: Carlisle U vs STFC MoM
Post by: Red Frog on Saturday, February 19, 2022, 16:47:15
Well that was pleasantly stress-free. Some very neat passing football, good movement and great feet against an admittedly pretty limited side. A few good performances to pick from today.

Edit: Oops - would a mod care to correct the title? It's Swindon not Toulouse we're talking about here.

Difficult one, not sure I can go against mckirdy, but many good performances that on another day would win it.

For continuing improvement I’ve gone for Davison - a right handful up front.

Reed was superb. JoJo could have stayed at home.

To be honest it's not always been related to his performances.

McKirdy was the match winner, Reed the best player.

Strong performances across the board.

Great to see Aguair play well again, has made missing Payne and Lyden manageable.

Amazing to have a back 4 who I have complete confidence in. Been a long time since we could say that.

::) Probably our least effective player today.

Many strong performances but cannot look past 3 Vs from the ball boy, 2 assists, 1 goal and 1 burger and 0 yellows.

But Reed's polar opposite quiet assurance and Aguiar's very first full 90 especially pleased me amonst several contenders for MOM 2.

Wasn't assuming you had done so my friend :)

More that if you post something not to happen on the TEF - it invariably does happen. Bit like me asking people not to target abuse at anyone in the surveys I run for my show - of course, some immature folk decide to get a kick from using online abuse via a thin veil of anonymity. The cowardly (and rather weird) cunts would be one way of terming them :)

Aguiar is progressing well.

Harry MotM, for the fan giving him the burger and not getting booked. Play is far less interesting when he's off the field.

burger?!

I assume after he was subbed, but it's McKirdy so...

I'm not sure players would be encouraged to take food from the fans.....but I maybe wrong.

McKirdy - Scored 1 and made 2
Davison - Best game in a Town shirt and good finish
Aguiar - Awesome debut. Some superb passing
Reed - Glued everything together
O'Brien - Held the defence together and was outstanding.

How's Cooper doing not a mention anywhere

While McKirdy was giving the home fans the benefit of his goal celebration, somebody threw their burger at him. That person must have been really pissed, stadium burgers aren't cheap to buy, although who knows what's in them.

Cooper wasn't as good as J.O.B., got caught out a few times, decision making could have been better.

One goal & two assists, from the commentary it was clearly McKirdy.  :)

Hope he sticks around for a good while yet.
It's not going to work anywhere else anyway.
Garner is the Harry Whisperer.

I thought every player pretty much played thier role well yesterday.

Cooper and JOB superb in defence and Jojo hardly put a foot wrong either behind them.

A great all round team performance that was good to watch, Carlisle barely posed a threat to our goal at all from start to finish and along with Scunny look doomed.

I wouldnt mind having Patrick as an option off the bench though if the chance arose to sign him.

Gave Aguiar the nod.

He’s definitely added some dynamism to our game the last couple of games. Considering he was literally on loan a Chippenham a few weeks back - that’s a very good impact straight away coming from a lower level.

I know we are only L2 and you could argue Scunny and Carlisle aren’t even that level but when you think about our non league signing success stories they are slim let alone instant success stories.

Long may it continue

Went for Harry but Aguiar, Davison, Reed, O'Brien all had good gaves and the whole team did their jobs. Very pleasing to see, now to replicate it against some better twams!

I see i'm in the minority but I thought Reed was tremendous on Saturday, he's like the metronome of the side keeping things ticking. Obviously McKirdy with a goal and 2 assists rates very highly but I personally went for the diminutive little midfielder who we massively missed during his absence.

I only think you are in the minority in voting terms.

pretty much all agree Reed was superb.

Sorry yes, only in voting terms for MOTM, you are quite right Batch.

Forgot to mention I've also been very impressed with Aguiar, he looks a real talent and is he finally ready for regular first team football?

He seems to have jumped over East in the pecking order.

Interesting to see how he gets on against tougher opposition - I'm hoping that he stands the test.

Think this applies to the whole team and the tweaked formation.

They’ve looked good in the last two games, hope they play as well tomorrow night

it's going to be interesting to see what he does tomorrow now Conroy is available

Surely you can't change a winning team/formation

And somebody votes East for MoM. Did he touch the ball in his five-minute cameo?

Seriously Mrs East, this is only the TEF. What's the point. ::)
