Not fishing at all, if Robson was half decent that'd have been another gold.

Fair enough, if you're not fishing then that's total bollocks!

How the hell could she get to the final if she isn't "half" decent? That in itself I feel was a great achievement, given her current ranking at the age of 18.

There was a BBC documentary on the 100m a few weeks back. Someone said they'd analysed all of Bolt's races and that if you took the best phases from each then he would run something like 9.3 secs.

I read back in the day caveman could run quicker over 100 meters then Bolt has. Incredible feet

Which is a bit like saying if a batsman never played a loose shot he'd average 100, or if a golfer never misread a putt he'd always shoot 64. A somewhat pointless hypothetical.

Just saying it as I saw it. Funnily enough a mate of mine was there and he thought the same.  She looked very weak to me, and was the difference between the two sides.

I knew it was her!

Have to say I felt sorry for Ohuruogu though, she put up a hell of a fight, but just left it a bit late. Must be a nightmare, planning for 4 years and you don't quite get it right.

I know, but it's a bit different with Bolt and the 100m. It would only be 10 seconds of getting it right and not fucking around - he practically stopped to pose for photos with 20 metres to go in Beijing. It was also an 'in theory' response and no suggestion he'd actually do it. But he admits to not training as hard as Blake and he likes to enjoy himself as well, which does make you wonder what he could do if he really wanted to and others were actually getting close to him.

Worth watching the documentary if you can, as they really went in to some depth - never realised how technical and complicated the 100m is. Sounds boring but was really interesting.

She was sixth with about 60m to go and then just went for it.  Another 5m and I reckon she'd have had it.

Ohuruogo is an awesome championship performer.
Only ever run under 50 in major races and hardly ever gets a victory on the circuit.
It shows her ambition and drive that she was disappointed to come second tonight.
And there can be no shame to be beaten by a great athlete like Richards-Ross.

If that's intentional, well done. If not, you're a half-wit.
