Nah Benda is a much better keeper, gets to stuff McCormick wouldn’t get close to and his interceptions outside the box have saved a few goals this season.

Broadbent looked much better today and definitely helped us look a bit more solid at the back.

As for the rest of the game we just about deserved to win but it was streaky. Both Fryers and Baudry were pretty poor defensively especially in the air barely winning anything hence the Broadbent sub.

Don’t get the Woolery criticism, he was a good outlet and set up the goal. Yeah he makes wrong choices but he also made a couple of big headers in our box and good flick ons to set up attacks.
Set up a goal? He shanked a shot and as always Doyle was in the right place.

Oh, my first time in the glue pot. What a great pub. Cracking ale  Pint

It's a gem. Used to be the home of the London Reds years back. Many a happy afternoon/evening spent in there.

6741. Would have expected more.

Anyone else surprised by this?  Completely unscientific, but the ground felt a little busier than that today.  I was expecting more like 7,500 based on how full the stands looked.

Yes. The south stand looked busier. I would have guessed at over 7k

Injury. Wellens said in his post-match presser. We missed him a little in the second half I think.

Very happy seeing us win today but will be happier still when we finally prove we can beat a top ten team. FGR will be our next chance.

Obviously we'll sell out the away end, will they sell all of theirs?

Not sure FGR are that bothered given that they are effectively a village team punching massively over their weight.

Apparently comedian and town fan Ivo Graham was being filmed at the game doing a piece for the EFL show on Swindon.

It wasn't on last night programme so should be in the near future.

Good win.

Just a word on Benda.
He's very good at the edge of the box one on one situations.
Saved a few of those now.

Hope the close range save is in the highlights, wouldn't mind seeing that again.

On the evidence so far, no reason why he shouldn't go on to have a decent career at a good level.
On a three year deal at Swansea, but might be worth putting in a cheeky bid in the summer?

We need to worry about Grimsby next.  Rarely a happy hunting ground, like many an eastern away day especially with a whiff of N Sea air in the nostril.

Numb go there on Tuesday... be interesting to see how they go... in  the short time they've been visiting Cleethorpes, last season was the first time they'd lost... 3 wins.  It's taken us since 1963 to clock  up 3 wins

Grimsby haven't won in the last 9 1st team matches.

But we have a rubbish record up there on the coast with just 4 wins in 23 games there, only drawing 4 too.

1 win in 15 games at Grimsby which was 4 games ago having lost our last 3 visits there.

They could have the "new manager bounce" if one is put in place by then but otherwise it could be a great time to play them.
