......looks likely they want a donkey CH.....its easy to see why and as Heywood is out of contract he will be free and they can raise his wage.

I wont be too sorry to see him go.

Think we'd be better off without him.

I don't think we'd be better off without him, but he might be easily replaced. I still think he and O'Hanlon can do a job in this division.

My trouble with Heywood has never been his ability to win the ball at the back - it's what he does afterwards. He's one of the worst offenders for spanking the ball up - usually with cries of 'hoooooooooof' from the crowd.

I'll be very sorry to see Matty Heywood go.  Technically not always the best but a solid enough sturdy centre half for this level.

I guarantee that Hewlett was not offered a contract and todays story is the reason he kept it quiet.  Gives him an element of bargaining power when he looks for a new club, it sounds so much better when you have turned down a contract rather having been released on a free.

That said a wholesale clearout may be just the ticket.

Heywoods not a bad player and I could see why city would want him or someone of his ilk.

They've been weak in the air at the back for a while now, Henderson tore them apart at trashton gate. That said he was being marked by 5 foot 9 Matt Hill who they've since sold.

I'd be sad to see Heywood go, especially as he's just got back to full fitness and returned to form. I think we'd miss him, but wouldn't be terribly difficult to replace.

Ifil, although not great this season, has the potential to be a better CH than Heywood-his distribution is somewhat better and he does have pace.A decent coach could do something with him.

I think Heywood is an important player, and although some areas of his game need to be improved (distribution and awareness), at times he can be solid as a rock, like he was vs City.
