You'll have to excuse me for not knowing about these kind of things, but what are the benefits to the club/individuals for these seemingly very long contract agreements with PUMA? We've had them a as kit manufacturer since 2015. Do clubs get a better deal for sticking with a manufacturer for an extended period of time?

It'll just be cheaper every year. Problem that we have with Puma is that it wasn't paid for x amount of years properly and when Clem came he had to pay them with his credit card as they wouldn't set up an agreement. Same with Barnes

I may have imaged this, but didn't it get renewed at short notice the summer that the ownership was uncertain with possible admin etc and then ultimately changed, if that's the case I suspect they had little choice bar extend with the existing supplier as I imagine no new supplier would touch them with a barge pole!

That sounds likely. Puma held all the cards in that discussion of course! Our 7 2 offsuit never stood a chance against pocket aces!

I read 2026 also, but when I had a convo in the shop last week I asked when are we binning shitty puma shirts off for Adidas......the response was along the lines of watch this space so maybe something is happening behind the scenes?

Adidas would be my wish, but seriously, lotto, castore, hummel, pretty much anyone other than puma with their spray on iron on shite.

Yeah think so. The last embroidered one I remember was the Lotto kits. I think some might be crossing over the kit sponsorship with the kit manufacturers mixed up. We had FourFourTwo from memory whilst having Lotto and they were in place as it changed to Adidas....the Kit Sponsor then change to Samsung/FIFA/FourFourTwo...I think.

But yeah I'm sure the change from embroidered was the end of the Lotto one to Adidas

Yeah, the second batch they got for the players that were actually cotton were good, but most of us had already bought the nan knitted version.

I've still got a pair of the shorts and they're in good nick. Can't say the same for my adidas swindon ones with the badges all worn and the DGI ones are a lot older.

Adidas were iron on badges too though.

My FIFA12 black and red Adidas shirt has an embroidered badge I think. It's very badly faded now however.  

Edit - actually if it's faded I am probably talking bollocks.

Aah trying to think now as I has that FIFA one...was the the one with the white 'S' that framed the edges of the shirt with a 'premium' type of mesh/wicking. Maybe that was the last embroidered jobbie then?

You could just be thinking about the shirt and/or sponsors logos fading though BO
