I want to be made to eat my words.
What a crock of shit. We are a bad team I am afraid to say.
Not just because this is so poor against 10, again, but because we just look clueless with little talent.

I would also argue that Khan,Williams and Darcy could all fill the "Reed" role

If we don't start well this half then I think Darcy and Jephcott should be introduced fairly soon.

Williams and Shade deserve mention for their utter absence. Both are supposed to be supporting Wakeling and neither has been within 20 yards of him.

I expected that straight away to be honest. Why wait?

I think Reed is getting too much criticism. He's played some nice passes out but yet the odd fluff. Not unique.
Think Gladwin looks like the only player with a pass to unlock the defence myself.
Shade hasn't excelled, can't work out his best position.
so I think I'd replace him with Darcy, switch formation to 442 and try and get overloads down the wings. We are getting space there but never really getting in behind at pace. Then it's set for Jephcott's winner

Its good everyone has different opinions, but none of those can do that holding role from what i have seen.
Reed has been poor individually this season, but i also think his position in the team ends up looking worse when the team around is poor. He needs options to pass to. A lot of his value was hitting cross fields balls after we created space, later in the season that was to McKirdy/Barry in the 433. At the moment we just don't create the space for it. We knock the ball around endlessly and dont seem to have a plan to create chances. Compare that to how Orient played against us and how easily they pulled players around.
For me at the moment the problem is squarely a coaching one. There is no real pattern of play and there is a lack of dynamism in the forward areas despite having picked most of our creative players. Williams is better breaking late, not as a front 3. Jury out on Shade there as well. Wakeling has done well so far. But that three compared to Barry/Mckirdy/Davison of last season is so far short of whats needed.

Reed has no point in the team based on how we have played thid season. We don't funnel through him anymore so he is not able to impact the game as a straight forward central midfielder. We are wasting him based on what he can do.

Khan volley well over the bar after a knock down from Shade in the box.
