Because the TV rights to the FA Cup are sold by the English FA to ITV (which is an independent commercial TV Company) and not syndicated by the FA to others like SKY. It would be up to ITV to sub sell any coverage if they wished or were allowed to by the FA. Equally there maybe and I could be mistaken government legislation to make sure there is not a monopoly by any TV company on sporting events in the Uk. Of course if I’m mistaken it will be smugly pointed out. 🙄 |
