Fucking hell, I kind of expect the Rugby Union/Rugby League rivalry, but don't get this anti rugby attitude from football fans.  Why can't people accept that there are people who like both sports.

It's like you've got some sort of chip on your shoulder.  Blaming a class divide, what out dated bollocks.

My comment about Rugby being a middle class sport was a joke.

Personally i think it's bloody boring but if others like it then fair do's.

one of my mates who is a big rugby fan reckons that in general.......

football is a gentlemens sport followed by hooligans
and
rugby is a hooligans sport followed by gentlemen

im not suggesting anybody is a hooligan (or a gentlemen for that manner Tongue ) but you dont often get trouble at a rugby game do you? apart from on the pitch maybe

I know Im a dinosaur. But I dont care.

Just 15 years ago most people in the UK HATED football. HATED! Its funny how everyone accepts that the game is over commercialised and gone mad with money, no soul etc. No one wants to be the person who put it there, the johnny come lately, yet everyone knows they exist. I mean, how can Cheltenham support a football league team?! Cheltenham!!! FFS.

Traditionally the reason you didnt like both sports was because football and rugby are both winter sports. So you were forced to choose, whereas cricket is a summer sport.

Its different for jocks, because they just want any excuse to have a go at the English (I might have a chip on my shoulder, but Il show you a chip a thousand times bigger!  Wink ). But the Welsh are even more divided than us, where did those 60,000 fans come from when they had a sniff at WC qualification? Then they dissapeared again, just as quickly, because they dont like football really. Just like grounds in the top flight are full today are full of people who dont like football that much. Just something for the plebs to do. Cricket is trying the same formula - how can we get people who dont like cricket to like cricket??? Hmm, I know, Twenty20!!!!

If everyone on here likes rugby, then for me thats another shovel of earth on the grave of English football culture. Im 'FUCK OFF RUGBY' and Im proud of it.

I like most sports as long as the result isn't judged by cunts giving marks for artistic impression.  Grand Prix, Golf, Tennis (Wimbledon only) Rugby(internationals only), athletics(world and olympics only), cycling(Tour de France only).  But football was my first love and it will be my last.

i'm quite pleased england beat australia in the rugby simply because they're australians and we're english.

I prefer League to Union. I am happy France beat the cheating NZ though. I'll watch it if the moment takes me.
