There's no way that Town let Paul Caddis go on a free... even during that era.
I can believe no sell-ons though.

Have we ever triggered a sell on?

There was one for Charlie, not sure how much the club got though as a percentage went to Fitton as a "finders fee".

Yet not good enough to break into the team.
And his team not good enough to beat one of the weaker sides in that league - wonder what excuse Cooper has for that one!

PdC fell out with him....we hoped to get a fee, but the best deal all round was a season long loan to Brum. When that expired, Jed/Power had taken over Caddis was a high earner so that getting him off the books made sense. Don't forget this regime sold Ritchie for 400K a few months earlier....

Caddis went for an undisclosed fee, according to the BBC.

The fee for Caddis was £150k up from plus sell ons to the total value of £275k reported in the Birmingham local rag.

Love the last quote, "MC getting very angry" - it must have been terrible, if we had lost like that he would still be saying we played well and didn't get the result we deserved!!! They are trying to play the three centre backs and two wing backs - who cannot defend!! Where have we heard that before!

I may be thinking of the original deal, when PdC took umbrage....Caddis went on a season loan. We hoped to cash in on a player who'd skippered a Div 4 championship side...but the best to do was the season loan. Either way we didn't get full value for a player we'd paid Celtic some money for. Not one of PdC's smarter moves.

Remind me what his best bit of transfer business was.

Reading the old threads on the Brum forum we originally wanted £400k for Caddis that then went down to £350k after the loan then down to £150k plus add ons up to a value of between £275k and £300k as Brum couldn't raise the money for the transfer all in one go at the time as they were still paying Zigic £50k a week! I am sure we have a decent add on if Sheff Utd pay in excess of what Brum paid for him.

Probably getting 70 grand from Torquay for Billy Bodin. Foderingham although not profitable was a good signing.

Wonder where Byrne will end up, not even in the Wolves squad yesterday.
