With a CB learning their trade it's sometimes more important who you play with than how good you are.

Clayton started off with MacDonald & then Baudry which can only have helped, then a right old mishmash of Brennan, FBT, Minturn on occasion & also Tomlinson.
Of the latter the partnership with Brewitt did yield some decent results, less so with FBT in a pairing with 2 left feet literally.

The classic case of that for me was Scott Cuthbert pre and post-Gordon Greer. I was sure he was going to go all the way when he had Greer alongside him... afterwards, not so much.

Jordan Turnbull with Jack Stephens and without him were 2 different players.

Can’t think of a more stark example than this!

Well, those two were the same age, they just knew each other well. It wasn't really a master/apprentice so much as just a Caddis/Ritchie style complementary pair.

We were talking to the brighton scout before one game and he wouldnt tell us who he was looking at, we all presumed it was Cuthbert

Some interesting bits in here, from about 56 mins.

Role of Paul Jewell.

What a great bloke Lee Power is...

Why Doyle did so well. I honestly think you could apply his explanation to Charlie Austin and if we treated him the same, he'd be banging them in. It is insane what he is being asked to do.

Lou Macari was in a feature on BBC breakfast this morning. He is still doing tremendous work in Stoke helping the homeless off the streets. He's opened a shelter in an old hotel in the City. Top bloke.

Sad to see John Trollope's record look like it will be broken, but with longevity records like that you can only say fair play.

Can't stand Lewington or MK but you can't fudge that one. He's done the hard miles.
