I think Uwakwe gets released in Jan.

It's Kokolo that is only contracted until Jan isn't it?

Kokolo signed a 6 week contract I think that runs out in January I think. He's looked pretty good so no doubt will be turning out for a new club by the time the window slams shut.

Cian Harries putting Aldershot into the next round, beating Stockport  Doh
See he's scored 4 in 26 games too.

Obviously he was never a top end L2 CB & didn’t have a great time with injuries here but never understood why are fans hated him so much and rated him so little - he was certainly no worse than all the other CBs we’ve used over the last two seasons.

TBH he made a fair few mistakes in his handful of games, but if I am honest he made no more than Minturn has in the same number of games buit fans are far more lenient to Minturn as hes "one of our own".

I think that a lot more leeway is given to "blood and thunder" type defenders like Brewitt and Minturn who people can really see are trying, over someone like Harries who was a bit more of a ball playing centre back, and to be honest, didn't look like he actually wanted to tackle terribly often. It's true of a lot of positions that players that try hard but aren't very good get better reviews than those who (at least look) like they could try harder.

Maybe Harries now has to make tackles he wouldn’t have here. Different league, different style of football and certainly less creative players to play against. You can’t be a sugar plumb fairy fancy Dan in the NL if you get my drift?

Aldershot are a sixth placed National League side, 17 points adrift from top spot and enjoying a great little run in the FA Cup. This is not evidence that our 22/23 campaign would be any different had Cian Harries played more. It was an unfortunate spell which felt doomed from the start.

Tolaj and Stokes look good though. I wish them both well at Peterborough whenever that inevitability takes place.

I think Notts County disproved that last year! Definitely used to be true, but the standard of L2 and NL seems really close now, probably caused by the limited promotion and no spending limits meaning the top end of the NL is really good - the last three NL champs are currently the top three in L2, with the NL playoff winner in 6th. If anything, you could argue the top end of the NL is *better* although I'm sure the average level isn't.

Yer man from the Adver has done a Athletic style deep dive into the Milan Misun transfer, which sounds quite entertaining. It's paywalled but I'm tempted to stretch to the £4 for 4 months offer they have on. (not a request for someone who does pay to copy and paste the whole thing!)

Edit: I should probably link to it https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/23997576.milan-misun-swindon-town-transfer-never/
