I remember Leicester City moaning!
Leicester had finished equal on points with us.  Pompey were moaning though!

They'd lost to Leicester in the semis - having finished TWELVE points ahead of the pair of us - and equal on points with promoted West Ham in 2nd.

It's all a blur but do remember Colin Calderwood wrestling Julian Joachim to the ground in the home league game near the end of the season.

Alfie Burden, currently battling it out with Jimmy White in the World Seniors Snooker Final, used to play for Swindon Town.

And Joachim getting sent off, although from memory it was later recinded. I was stood near the half way line on Shrivvy Road and the ref came over to speak to the linesman who told the ref that Joachim had thrown a punch, hence the red card.

Another game v Leicester probably 4/5 years earlier their fans came onto the pitch at the end of the game and also smashed up the Rat Trap pub pre-match

I was at both of those, the second one was early on (maybe even first game) of the season.

I can remember two games at Filbert Street where we had men sent off (one game we had two).
Was convinced at the time that the ref had been put up in a nice hotel at Leicester’s expense

I remember David Kerslake getting sent off at Filbert Street in the 2nd minute. And typically we still went 2-0 up and then conceded the equalizer in the 4th minute of added time. And, i then got lost trying to get out of Leicester and drove past the ground 15 minutes after first going past it!

I think the second one was at the start of the season as I was on the bank and remember it being hot.

I think it was, it was Hoddle's first game for us, so a bigger crowd than usual for the first game.

It was the first game of the season, I was in the Shrivy Road and heard a bit of a commotion as we were walking out.

I lived in Stratton at the time and remember seeing the commotion around the Rat Trap pub lunchtime

It was 3 years out of 4 that we had someone sent off there, strangely enough the only time we didn’t was the season when we lost 2-1 without ever being ahead 🤷🏼‍♂️

One of them being 2-0 up and Foley getting sent off. Nicky Hammond had been excellent until last 10 mins. Then he conceded a soft goal before Leicester scored 2 in injury time to see us lose 3-2.
