Us beating Bradford sent them up, so it seemed genuine to me.

Why would it be a dig? He’s said thanks because we beat Bradford and sent them up?

He'd been getting positive messages from Town fans all weekend and we provided the result that sealed their promotion. Seemed sincere to me. There's also three Swindon title winners there.

So Leyton Orient clinch promotion this week whilst we end the season somewhere between 10th and 18th. (to be confirmed)

Their staff members are;

Manager/coach - Richie Wellens
DOF - Martin Ling
Chief Executive - Mark Devlin

All of those were previously of this parish and all of these are experienced football people. In the words of Jim Bowen, 'look at what you could have won'

Ten years from now a dream team of Zav, Sandro and Jamie Day take Yeovil into the Premier League. Mark my words.

Which Premier League though? Surely one of the lower league regional ones?

TBF not sure about Devlin, but both Ling and Wellens departures had nothing to do with the actions of the club, in Lings case possibly the only time that Power appeared to do the right thing with anything.

That's very true on Ling. I'd say Wellens probably left because Power was in the process of pulling the plug though.

The point I was really trying to make was how Orient had put in place a structure of experienced football bodies. The fact they are all ex-town, whilst significant was secondary.

The fact that we have a couple of data people from the horse racing/betting industry and a Swindon fan that used to work in a building society, for me, is a major stumbling block for getting where Orient got to this season.
