My only stand out memory of Williams was him reacting to stick from the Town End during a game against Burton Albion.

He never recovered from that.

Who was the Liverpool defender on loan and was never the same after he got arrested on a night out in Cheltenham

Weird, I always thought Lloyd Jones was one we developed and sold to Liverpool and then subsequently got loaned back. As it happens that was Plymouth.

Wiki tells me, out of his near 90 apps, he has played his most (in a single stint) with Town. Over a third of them. Says he's a Luton player but that contract could have ended. Is still only 24 (nearly 25). Looking at all those loan spells, understandable when younger whilst at Liverpool but when signing for Luton, more loan spells aren't exactly what he probably had in mind.

I'm kind of glad the 6 week loans aren't available any more (unless emergency I guess) because that wasn't that beneficial to a player or club. Not long enough to do much, but if they do alright there's no guarantee of them sticking around. Purely designed just so clubs could field a full matchday squad/cover injury. Not much use after that. Kind of an "in-season" trial in some ways too, so can see the mild draw there. Hardly screams "sustainable" though.

Well he got a 2.5 year deal out of it though! Although it seems he went straight back to Plymouth and then Cobblers (both on loan). Needs to settle at a club soon, one where he plays regular. Cheltenham or Exeter would be a good shout.

Just realised, the player I was thinking of who was "one of our own"...Lloyd Macklin. Dropped out of the FL pretty quickly him. Despite not breaking through here, he will always be remembered for one reason at least.

A few years back maybe even 10+ we sold a young 16/17 to Fulham and another went to Everton but can't remember their names or what happened to them

Leigh Mills and Jukebox, Leigh Mills bombed out of football but Jukebox has had a decent career to be fair.

Cheers. I didn't realise the second one was Jukebox as he's still going strong at Birmingham I think. Collins is the one I couldn't remember and have no idea what happened to him

Come to think of it Mills was Spurs, think it was someone Collins to Fulham or something like that.

Edit: was Matty Collins, bombed out as well.
