Plenty of scrapes and near misses with that lot over the years.
Been to both the Old Den and New Den, Old Den worse.
The Old Den was interesting - an “old school football ground”. I went a couple of times - the highlight was a 3-2 FA cup win in the early 1980s with Jimmy Quinn scoring a brilliant long range winning goal if my memory is accurate.

The thing that I really remember from my one and only visit to The Old Den was the chant their fans sang. It was just a really deep, long drawn out, ' Millwallllllllll' which seemed to last an eternity.

Actually I didn't mention my first game. 1985 I think it was V Sheffield Wednesday in the Milk Cup, at home, won 1-0. I think Peter Coyne scored our goal.
Haven't looked back since.

Just before that game, saw Sheffield Wednesday at West Brom, they looked unbeatable. Couldn't believe the Town won soon after. |

I had a brief chat with Frank Burrows widow Wendy this morning at a Sally Army fete in Gorsehill my Mrs and the dragon in law were helping at.
When I waxed lyrical about Frank you could tell how much it meant to her. Touching experience.

A big inflatable bottle of milk in the centre circle before the game. That was one of my first games |

The official figure (at the time) that evenings was 3,200 Swindon fans in a 12k crowd. On a damp Tuesday November evening as well. And back then we never stopped singing all game long and celebrated our goal like it was a winning goal. |

Was that the milk cup game ?? Brilliant atmosphere especially when half pint milk cartons were thrown into the crowd at half time, only for the fans to throw them back, poor kids, they got absolutely pelted !!. |

Well done, Sir. Touched just to hear your account. Frank was an absolute rock. And well thought of at Pompey too I would imagine. He later recalled the Don's spotless kit and the fact that he never tracked back or anything...but Frank gladly forgave him on account of all the win bonuses the Don had earned him. |
