I'd rather have Shakes personally because he makes the effort - nothing worse than players who don't look like they try.  Hard to quantify, Duke played at a higher level, in a gerneally better team - and got tons of assists because he could be sure if he put crosses on Parkin/fallon/mooney's head it would be a goal or close to it.  It would be good to see shakes in a side with a bit more attacking flair.

Honestly matt I dont think it would. I coined the phrase "black hole of creativity" to describe our right wing earler this season

It would have the oposite effect on Shakes IMO, he'd look like what he is , a fit athletic player who works fairly hard, but is basically devoid of any quality.

Probably right Piemonte, I'm suffering David Duke irrational hate syndrome, I believe you have similar issues with Gareth Whalley?

No idea what you are on about mate, thats all rational Cheesy

To be fair my dislike for Duke when he was here was only bettered by that of Hewlett. Looking back however at least the attacking side of his game wasnt that bad, might have looked half decent if played on either wing regually

Duke couldn't cross for shit!! If he came back I would physically cut myself.    Shocked
As opposed to mentally cutting yourself?

He always had a good game when we played non league sides. So maybe he should look for a contract at conference level.

what? he's probably the best crosser we've had since Walters!

He clocked up loads of assists in his time here.....something which we're lacking now.

King always played in Duke out of position, not his fault.....

Would do a job on the wing for us right now...

Good for a short term contract until the end of the season
He can cover a few positions in event of injury (something we're lacking)

Although not really a winger, I'm pretty sure Ian Woan could put in a much better cross.

I know that. I meant whilst he was playing for us. Obviously.

He was ace though. It's a shame he had to get older.
