Having been to Wembley to watch England play, pay the extra for a good seat, we sat in the top tier in the cheapest section and it was liking watching sensible soccer, the only player we could see was Crouch.

I've not seen any football played at the New Wembley but I was up in the nose bleeds watching Oasis there last summer and I didn't think the view was too bad.

Do not sit in the gods, especially the back rows as it is like watching matchstick men. I have been on at least 8 or 9 occassions, and would suggest that anywhere in the lower tier has a good view. The views from behind the goals are good compared to "old wembley". The views on the side are very good also. I have also been in a box for an england game and that was excellent also.

If you can offord it "trade up", but would suggest, again if you can afford it that £64 is your starting price.

Hope this helps.

what time are people booking transport home? Obviously need to take into account possible ET and PEN. Would 6.30pm be sufficient? Or 7pm

Please note that Season Ticket Holders will need to know their Season Ticket number in order to book both online and via the call centre. This number can be found in the bottom left hand corner under the name in the Season Ticket book.

If you have a 2010/11 season ticket how do you know the number?

so let me get this straight, between now and friday is just season ticket holders, who can have up to 6.

Now are we best off sorting our own tickets, or getting a group of 6 and get one person to get them so we are at least sat together?

Be awesome to have most of the TEFers in the same place.

That would mean if every season ticket holder did get the full allocation of tickets then most people will be sorted by Friday anyway. Does anyone know if Cardiff have sold their allocation for this Saturday? Last I heard they hadn't, which is poor for a club with a 25000+ ground and a massive catchment area for supporters.

and no the grey seats are not for sale

I have block 124.

OK - another thick question before I go on ticketzone and do the deed.

Will ST holders under 10 count for having a full allocation of 6 seats, or will they be restricted to 6 seats of same age group, or will they not count at all?

I have a season ticket, and so do both my boys, and I want to buy 4 adults and 3 junior tickets. I am assuming I will be OK but will have to make 2 transactions.

Had to book mine on my 7 year old's season ticket as it says tickets have already been booked on mine. Not by me they haven't. Not impressed. Didn't cause me a big problem (other than a temporary cardiac issue while I tried it three times to make sure it wasn't just fat fingers/typos/whatever then prayed the lad's season ticket number would work) but if the problem (whatever it is) is more widespread then there's going to be some pretty pissed off season ticket holders if it happens to people who've only got access to the one season ticket.

You will be extremely lucky to get 12 together. Maybe 3 or 4 together (In and around the good seating areas, that is), by the time they go on general sale. We only just managed to get 5 together, and that was at 9pm!

Forgot to mention that aside from having problems with booking the correct no of seats, I also had to use my 6 year old's season ticket.  Had the same message saying tickets had been booked on mine.  Thought my brother had done a sneaky one, but he doesn't know the number!

Well plenty of people would know my surname but how would they know the ticket number? Unless someone's just tried some kind of brute force attack with likely numbers and their "Big Book of Common English surnames". More likely Ticket Zone (or the club) have fucked up their database, I'd have thought. It was a little worrying for a while, but more of a concern that people are going to miss out because they've just messed something simple up

It says 'within 24 hours' on my confirmation email.

It's probably nothing to worry about, just me being paranoid.

I just keep dreading that I keyed my card number wrong and it shows on my confirmation email as '***************P'. Why the fuck is there a P in my card number?

Same here Samdy, although mine ends with 0  (and it's a 13th character so I hope I've got it right.

Got 5 together in block 125 at about 10.30 last night. Lucky I nicked pauld's' season ticket number back at the quiz last year...

Indeed, but it's difficult to tell from the plan how far from the pitch you will be. Apparently the further up you are the more the players take on Sensible Soccer proportions. I was just hoping I don't need binoculars, like you do from the back of Old Trafford's north stand.

Diamandis revenge messing with the database before he left to get Davis back  :)

I got a P please Bob at the end of my confirmation email as well, so if it is something to worry about, we can all sit outside Wembley wailing together.

On another note, rang the customer services chaps about the "You've already bought tickets on this season ticket" thingy and they said no, it's fine no tickets booked against that number. Fella reckoned it may actually have been the website being under load, failing to handle login and bad error handling leading to the "already booked" message being used as a generic error message rather than specific to that one problem. So seems that's actually OK (albeit misleading) so if anyone else had that problem and is panicking that they won't be able to book, don't, just ring up if you can't log in. Bloody programmers :)

And credit where it's due, phone answered pretty much straight away and when I did manage to log in using son's ST no last night, booked the tickets in no time flat. So as long as the damn things actually turn up, I'm back to being impressed again (but a bit snotty about the error handling in the web app) :)

Heh, aren't we all a bunch of nervous ninnies?

The 4 digits before the CVV number (3digits) are the last 4 numbers of your main card number on the front.

As long as you've put your CVV number in, I think it will be OK.

An issue number used to be on Solo cards, but as you say, they are no longer on it.

In regards to the charging of the cards, I have not been charged yet, but I believe, Ticket Zone are collating the data for the club, so the club can charge the cards in the ticket office, and that is where the tickets will be sent from.

Surely Ticket Zone must've done some kind of charge on the card, otherwise someone could put any old details in and manage to 'book' tickets (albeit the card will declined at a later date).

Normally when they authorise online, you normally are now put through to the Visa/Mastercard extra authorisation  process, which never came up or you are given an authorisation number at the very least, which pre-authorises the card.

I've checked my online account, which shows any transactions that have been authorised, but have yet to be charged, and they total around £40, and I've spent £137 on tickets.

If there is a problem with the card, they will get in touch, as they've asked for a contact number.

Also was only way i could guarantee tickets. We are in Block 144 Row 31. Only downside is no colours allowed!!!

Don't know if non-season ticket holders would be interested.

wembley regs on flags.....

Quote
We know that many supporters like to display flags at football matches and Wembley Stadium will always be as accommodating as possible. However Wembley Stadium upholds the highest standards of Health and Safety.

Flags are not generally confiscated, however the obstruction of gangways, access routes, exits and entrances, important health and safety signage and stairways is strictly forbidden. In the event of an emergency we need to have all access and exit points clear.

Wembley Stadium reserves the right to confiscate flags if they are very large and we feel that it may compromise public safety, obscure someone’s view, a camera position or if a flag carried offensive, discriminatory, inflammatory messaging.

Flags more than 250cm in size at their most widest or longest section will not be allowed.

Flag poles greater than 1m in length are not allowed however. Any articles that could potentially be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety are prohibited.

Permission must be sought in advance from the stadium and event owner to organise use of the very large supporter flags that are designed to be passed over people's heads. In such cases the flag must be flame retardant and the organiser bringing the flag into the stadium will need to provide the appropriate H&S certification. This is in line with the stadium’s grounds regulations.

For the Mexico game we will be running an additional service to assist members who experience difficulty accessing the stadium with their flags (that reach the above criteria).

Should you encounter any problems upon accessing the stadium, please call our englandfans representative on 07970 146 250 who will be available to assist you.

Having got my tickets after worring for 2 days, i am now being pesimistic about their delivery.  As they are being sent out by Recorded Delivery what happens if no one is in when the postie delivers them?  Do you get one of those cards telling you to go to your local sorting office to collect them?

Yes and if you have to go to Hawksworth it's only open between 6am and 2pm.

Certainly was, David M is now is Leicester, still see Jacko, Bob B et al at random games.  I was a member back in 92 until whenever it ended.

I wonder how many tickets Royal Mail will lose? We use First Class Recorded to send out our packages and they lose about 1 in 500. They're not recorded until you sign for it or delivery is attempted. Delivery times are usually between 1-5 days but quite a few take between 5-15 days to arrive.

I would have rather have paid extra for Special Delivery!

It seems a bit hit or miss to be honest.

We have been to the American Football at Wembley, and the first year they took the bottles off you when you went in. The other times they have just taken the lids (as of course no one is clever enough to take a spare lid).

They haven't ever stopped us taking in food though (sarnies & the like).

Yes, the last time we were at Wembley I had a special (?) wooly hat that I had worn most of the season. The fact that it was matched with a T-Shirt & shorts was irrelevant.

Added to that I wore the same clothes for both games against Charlton, means I will definitely be in Red for the Final :D

It's now gone up to £28 and kids is the same.  Might be the only option though.

And Swindon Travel(Hatts)are running coaches at £19.

The Swindon Travel website says their coaches are full.  I've been trying their no repeatedly to double check, but getting no answer.

Can't believe this.  I sorted everyone's tickets on Tuesday night and now 4 days later I'm having to piss about with this.  NO happy at all.  Should have just done it all myself in the first place, you can't rely on anyone else!

Yes they have.  Just managed to book seats on a coach that's been booked privately from Eldene.  Apparently the chap reckons there's 216 coaches going from the Swindon area through the Travel club and additional ones booked privately!

Today they were even stopping you taking bottles of water in, so you then had to join massive queues just for water. must have been murder for those sat in the baking sun. We got away with it by saying my brother is on medication. Which is in fact true, even if slightly irrelevant.

I went once and they would let you take bottled water in if you opened it in front of them and threw the lid away.  So, err, keep a spare lid in your pocket

Of my previous visits since the rebuild (4 England games), that's the only item I've purchased once through the turnstyle. Can't remember the exact amount but it's nothing extreme. What people don't realise is, once people have bought a burger or a pie etc, they stamp 'CUNT' on your forehead, so that other people can see those stupid enough to have paid their prices.

What people don't realise is, once people have bought a burger or a pie etc, they stamp 'CUNT' on your forehead, so that other people can see those stupid enough to have paid their prices.

 ;D

Haha, you fucking feel like it. I went for England U21 Vs Italy just after opening and went in hungry. At HT i decided to buy a snack. It was called something along the lines of Peperoni French Bread Pizza. It was cost fucking loads and tasted like some soggy bread that had sat near some garlic once. It was disgusting and i deserved that cunt stamp. I spent £7 getting some food ffs and it was the most vile shit i have EVER eaten.

EDIT: Despite being about 3 people from the front it still took 15 minutes to get the food. It was a joke.

Going on the coach, no idea when we will get to wembley but all the pubs will be rammed so inside will be my only chance to have a pre-match beer.

I see from the blackpool cardiff pics on the o/s, large chunks of empty seats in the second tier at both ends....I guess these are the ones that are greyed out on the wembley seating plan, marked up as corporate seats. It would appear that barely a single one has been taken up. What a pile of horseshit, what is the point in that.....this may have been touched on in the matchday thread, but, hey, fuck it.

As much as people don't like the prices, £40 or £50 for a good seat is much better value than £30 at the top of the West stand.

The 2nd tier is Club Wembley and would normally be full of the yearly holders but they don't get the Play offs on their annual deal.  The tickets are the most expensive so demand tends to be low, even in the Championship games so I guess they only release small numbers rather than have loads of people spread out all over that tier - which costs more to support from a staffing perspective I guess.  Some of it will go to the corporate deals (£249 for 3 course meal, 3 hours pre match free bar, half time pre ordered free drinks and 1 hour free bar post match, padded seat), but I would expect demand for those is low as well given the nature of the game - prob just local companies and a select few with enough dosh.

Same problem so I thought I'd wait & see what happens. Then luckily got that very block 24 hours after they went on sale.

Mine turned up this morning, my postie's a Poxford fan, he wasn't happy when he found out what I was signing for.

:D  I'm in West Oxon & when I told my postman why he'd done a good thing yesterday morning, he screwed his face up and said "Oh booo! I'm an O*ford fan." Then he had this sour, miserable look on his mug & sloped off with Chris Waddle-type shoulders. Brilliant! He looked and sounded a bit 'special', like he was doing it as a one-off on some sort of scheme. Hence the team he supports, I suppose. What a start to the day, couldn't take the grin off my face for quite a while.

From the football forums: "We tried for Millwall tickets today to make a weekend trip but they were gone, however we now have tickets in the Swindon end...you will all be nice if I celebrate our win in your end (no pun intented)."

From the football forum: "Still, they'll still sell-out, even know of a few Wall buying tickets in Swindon end because they weren't members & worried they'd miss out, cos only 11,000 odd left to go on general sale tommorrow!"

"They were right to panic as well...Wall's allocation now officially sold out.

Yours are on general sale to anybody now, according to some on HOF."

Not quite. The system was in place initially but then became lax due to various protests. I live in Staffordshire and was not on the database, yet I was eventually given the option of buying up to 4 tickets. There was no way of ascertaining whether I was a 'Wall or Town fan. No ticket allocation system is perfect and, as they say, 'where there's a will there's a way'. If there are Millwall fans in our end then I don't mind as long as they STAY quiet. Should they open their mouths then they deserve to be summarily battered.

I think the ones who got tickets for our end were ones outside the london postal codes.

I done this at blackburn years ago and it aint much fun sitting on your hands all game and something i would't do again even if it was wembley. It's just not the same when you can see your own fans at the other end.
