The life of a second-choice gk... Takes a certain kind of guy. Reckon he could easily have dropped down one tier and been a good number 1 for someone, but why bother?

Simon Cox signs for Southend. 2 year deal.
Him and Nile Ranger up front in this league could be phenomenal or a complete disaster. 33/1 on them currently to win the league, stranger things have happened.

Moving Nile to a seaside resort in Essex, what could go wrong?

I always thought Stuart Taylor (ex Arsenal, Villa, Man City etc reserve keeper) was the epitome of this. Now 35, a millionaire, yet only 75 first team starts to show for his whole career. Seems like a waste of talent to me. {Apologies - I know he's not ex-Town}

Graham Stack is another....although he's still going having seemingly found a home at Barnet, after bench warming for about 10 years to 2012.

Another is Richard Wright, looked to be going places at Ipswich then a career of second choice.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Wright_(footballer)

One from the classic Football Italia years was Michelangelo Rampulla who spent 10 years on the Juventus bench collecting 49 appearances and probably splinters.

At least Wright can look back at his 2 spells with Ipswich with some pride, and having trousered a big bucks, I'm sure is well regarded at Portman Road. His work on Careful With That Axe Eugene and The Grand Vizier's Garden Party is an acquired taste, however

Kayden Jackson signs for Barnsley on a two year deal
But is then shipped out to Grimsby on a season-long loan!

Jackson's loan was inevitable from the moment Lloyd Isgrove scored Barnsley's third at Wembley. Perhaps had the stayed in L1 he would have got a chance.
The only 'Win A Pro' to maintain anything close to a pro career.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has left Nabil Bentaleb, 21, Clinton N'Jie, 22, Federico Fazio, 29, and Alex Pritchard, 23, behind for the club's tour of Australia and all could be moved on. (The Sun)
I wonder where Pritchard will end up.. did he play for WBA in his loan spell there?

Once or twice maybe but not regularly. Championship is where he will end up I think
