Finished The Detectorists on Thursday. Not the ending I was expecting but IMHO left the door open for more. Did enjoy it in a slightly cringing way.
On New Years Day, the BBC showed Season 3 after midnight. I watched them all again for the umpteenth time as it is my favourite comedy. No real anger, except some hostility towards the Dirtsharks, and Toby Jones is outstanding. Highly recommended to anyone who hasn't seen it and it was on the iPlayer last time I checked.

The Chestnut Man on Netflix. Danish crime drama about a serial killer hunt. Superb. I binge watched over 2 days.

No mate there isn't any scary Van Halen in it. It's a bit weird but it's about a bloke who restores video tape, and he gets a job restoring the tapes recovered from a tower block fire, it's not very jumpy.

Afterlife with Ricky Gervais on netflix, bringing the series to its finale, for me absolutely brilliant.

I stand by my earlier remarks This, there is only so far an obnoxious cunt going round calling other people cunts for comedic effect can go and it got quite tedious, albeit the sentimentality bit was still quite touching and if I am honest the last episode broke me and Mrs H07 a bit.

Have to admit I hate Gervais I think hes an arrogant self centred egotistical twat but that series was moving. And there was gratuitous use of the word cunt for just the laugh when 50% of the time it didn't work at all, still enjoyed it though.

Couple of new cop dramas started this week. Jed Mercurio's "Trigger Point" on ITV and "The Responder" on the Beeb. Based on the first episodes I'm thinking The Responder is going to be epic. Also Martin Freeman's scouse accent appears to be completely on point (Stephen Graham must have been busy)

Been watching Rules of the Game on iPlayer, pretty good so far albeit has raised the question has Maxine Peake played a likeable character in anything ever!

We enjoyed this. Isn't Maxine Peake also in an ITV drama about a parent of a kid killed in Hillsborough? I suspect she might be likeable in that!
