Title: Ticketmaster
Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, 10:01:36

I like the idea of the integration and the loyalty points. The biggest concern is any potential added costs when purchasing tickets online. Let's hope that side has been thought through properly.

I guess it's these two sections though that will see the redundancies.

Need to hear more detail but the loyalty points idea gets a massive  from me

For every 23 games you attend you will get 10p off a ticket.

it's obvious that online ticketing needs to be improved. People would rather do it online and I've been left frustrated having to telephone in the past because of never being able to login.

Hope this does't lead to a increase in booking fees and delivery charges.

For ever 15 games you attend you're invited to a knee's up in the Legends Lounge with Jed and the boys, BYOB with Skol or a can of kestral being their preferred choice.

There is bound to be, i guessing this is where Ticketmaster will make their profit from

If it works anything like concerts it'll be £23 a ticket plus a £3.70 booking fee and a £2.20 transaction fee.

That and selling people's credit card information on to third parties.

Think that was Ticket Zone, not Ticketmaster.

ONLY A MATTER OF TIME! (I retract my statement)

I will be annoyed if it means tickets are even more expensive because of booking fees etc. though.

Yes, part of Live Nation.  One of the companies I do loads of work for (including todays shenanigans).  The only bright spot is I may be able to blag some free tickets.  For me.  Always a silver lining.

So this could tie in with the concerts then?

I thought some insurance company was the link to the concerts  :hmmm:

Well yeah, but it doesn't mean these ticket master folk can't be involved as well.

I'd be 90% certain its nothing to do with Live Nation but Ill ask the boss man when he turns up tonight.

I have asked him before when the concert idea was first announced and he seemed to know nothing about it and think given the capacity it wouldn't be a goer.

Have any other clubs done this?
Outsourcing looks to me like it means ticketmaster will get their cut from fees and the club won't have to employ staff.

We outsourced tickets back in the 90s and one undesired consequence was that it was easy for away fans to get in the home ends - in particular i'm thinking of Millwall and Bolton in the League Cup

Maybe tickets can be sold to pre registered supporters or those living near Swindon. I think it's something that should be easily policed

You'd need a fan login in order to order tickets hence the reward system. I guess the question is how easy would it be for away fans to sign up? Shouldnt be a huge issue though given not many clubs at this level bring enough.

Most of the top division clubs here use Ticketmaster and they charge a booking fee on top of the ticket price. It's been a while since I used the online ticketing at STFC but didn't that include a booking fee and extortionate postage?

A £25 seat cost £27 when booked online last season. If booked in time that included postage. I'd be surprised if Ticketmaster match that.

A ticket for Vålerenga - Rosenborg at the national stadium costs 300 NOK + 27 NOK fee, that's a £3 fee on a £34 ticket. If it scales down according to the ticket price then it's hardly different to the previous system and will be vastly improved for bigger games
