Its going to be JFH isn't it. Adver said he's applied. He has some coaching experience in the championship. He fits the successful model of managers we've had before, has a recognised name, he's availabe etc, he's been consistent on the odds front and i see today SKYBET have him down to evens for the job.

If he could help get us to convert more of the chances we convert then bring it on

I'd be pleased with Hasselbaink, although feel he would make a better appointment in the summer OR if he was bought in with an experienced coach alongside him on the understanding that it would be a short term role.

I wouldn't be adverse to JFH I think he has a lot to offer and is a fairly intelligent person and eager for a job, even if we employ him till the end of the season, its not like that even with a disaster we would be fighting relegation, the worse that will happen is that we don't make the play offs and have to consolidate mid table this year, which I was expecting if I am honest at the start of the season.

Read on Twitter last night that Adkins and his assistant are both on "Gardening leave" at Southampton still, so can't take up another appointment until they have sorted their contracts out.

So who do you want VD?  Be realistic.

Paolo Di Canio

After that someone who is a new manager but has experience. Someone like Ian Culverhouse, Graeme Jones or Steve Round who have been assistant managers for a good number of years.

I'd love Nigel Adkins here but I'm not gullible or deluded enough to even consider it a realistic option.

If it were feasable it would be a good idea and try to attract a hi calibre manager, on a short term contract with an effing big bonus and the carrot of a contract at the end of it for getting us into the championship. I'd go for that.

I see when you said you'd be adverse to Jones...it was a typo. The problem with someone like Culverhouse, is that if you're an assistant at a decent size Prem club, your wages will be way over what a Div 3 side pays for the top job. As for PdC it's just not going to happen.

Of the names mentioned of alleged applicants JFH has to be worth a risk..even if it's just to show the new lot have some sort of ambition.

Adkins was on £200k at Southampton when in our league.
