You'd be very hard pressed to find anyone there who knows who he was. There's remarkably little ill will towards the Americans there, or in Vietnam even. The Khmers hate the Viets, and the Viets hate the Chinese.

50 odd years ago now & I'm guessing that Cambodia has quite a young population overall plus a degree of stoicism.

Maybe there is dancing on the streets of Santiago.

It's absolutely disappearing from living memory, but I think even most who lived through it just don't know what went on. Even at the time the blame was put on Lon Nol, so the Khmer Rouge could raise an army in the rural East that was being bombed, to rise up against the bourgeois city folk.
