I realise that this could be an Instawank, tiktik, snapcrap, faceache or any other social media post but fuck you its going on here.
Been vexing about transport to T5 as our missionary/work sabbatical is approaching fast. Ruled out all transport options except train. However therein lies the conundrum. Flying out is early evening. Easy peasy, coming back we land at about 4.45 AM, not easy assuming flight is on time. Train coming back means a long hiatus at T5 until ‘peak’ travel becomes off peak back to Swindon via 3 changes. Then I had a eureka moment. So rang one of my old sales customers in Sunbury and posed the Q, anywhere I could park the car safely and get a local taxi to T5 and back to the car on my return. “LL, my friend, park your car here and leave me the keys in case we have to move it at all, have a nice trip, see you soon”. BOOM, pays to be nice to people and look after them doesn’t it. Minimum saving £140 maximum saving (assuming peak return on train) £200.

It pays to think through all of the options available to yourself and then revisit them and think again. Glad you got a solution and the dollar saved will pay for the tiling to be done

A nice couple of strangers heard me calling taxis whilst trying to get home from London on the messed up trains tonight - was quoted £110 or £60 for a 30 monute journey. They gave me a lift and I gave them a tenner for petrol and the favour. It's nice to be reminded there are good people around.

Just had my quarterly electric bill.
€6! Wtf! The government subsidy comes straight off your bill - none of this voucher nonsense or having to apply for it.

Shocked me, too. That’s the 3rd government subsidy that’s amounted to over €1000 so far.
