I'm not excited, nor underwhelmed. I just want someone who will do the job well. I'd even let a chopsy half cut DMR if it meant success.

I think most of us never wanted him because most of us don't know enough about football (although we think we do) to know what he's done in football both as a player and a coach.
You only have to read up on various forums and articles to know this is not a Malpas type appointment, this is something a little more shrewd.
Appointing any manager is always a gamble but this suits perfectly what we need for the end of the season which is a experienced coach with the upmost respect in the football community and the fact that it's his first full time managers position means he will have a new hunger to succeed.
I'd love to find out a bit more about how he set his sides up. I think Collins will benefit hugely from this.
Really excited by this appointment.

The irony is I'm not goading (for once)
I'd like to say I think it's 'meh' but to be honest I think it's a load of wank.
We'll see. Hope I'm wrong.

And Storey and the Thompsons.
And L Rooney, Judging by the comments he can give them all a lift and he will get respect, the players will certainly know who he is.

I understand that it is 2.5 years. My understanding might be complete bollocks though.
