apparently, so I've been told (could be total bullshit)
Akinfenwa has come back to the club with a doctors note saying he will only be out untill the end of august.
So, the move could be back on :?

Maybe if the 'takeover' is soon to be concluded, Luggy might have spare funds and suddenly it does not seam such a gamble.

I don't really see why this situation has been so clear cut.
Can we not tell the fella that we will not offer him a contract unless he proves his fitness. He thinks he'll be back at the end of August and therefore we could offer him a contract then. By just stating we believ he'll be out til November so see ya later, seems to be a little short sighted.
Oh and DV it may have been the doctor's note that made it sound like your post was a joke. Just the thought of 6 ft 3" Akinfenwa turning up at reception with a handwritten doctor's note does sound like possible sketch show material.

Probably more to it that we have got Corr who is not going to be fit until Sept and if we sign another striker that is not going to be fit for a good few months then it is risky as if he brakes down we have signed someone who will only play a few months of the season, I suspect Luggy wants someone in to partner Sturrock Jnr for the big kick off. Personally I don't see why he has not joined the club for light training and the physio can see for himself what stage Aky is at, maybe Luggy will look again if his cash crisis continues.

Easy put him on a pay-as-you-play contract.
Sorted.

Whether he would have accepted such a contract is anyone's guess.
