Just seen a map of the NL North on Twitter, and apart from the fact that teams as far south as Brackley & Bishop Stortford are in it, there are 7 previous football league teams in it
It looks proper mad doesn't it, albeit there obviously has to be a split somewhere and it depends on the teams who end up at that level. However, as pointed out by a lot of people, its actually further for Bishop Stortford to get to the teams in the NLS in Cornwall than it is for them to get to Blyth!

I’d imagine it takes a lot less time too. A drive up the A1 as opposed to the nightmare of the roads getting down to Cornwall

I was looking at this when I was looking at The Football League reform thing. Its insane some of the southern teams in the National League North.
Instead of bottom 4 going down, they should have the bottom 2 southern teams and bottom 2 northern teams.
Is it fair that a team higher could end up being relegated based on geographical location? Well it certainly isn't ideal but when you have teams in the place of a London airport in the northern league, it becomes a bit of a farce.

The fundamental problem of having regional leagues, that join up with National leagues.
Obviously it’s done to save costs for smaller teams, however travel is less of a barrier than it was 50 years ago.
For example Guernsey now play in the Isthmian league, although they have to pay the costs for teams to fly to the island

I get where you are coming from but you could end up having a team finishing 21st who stay up and a team finishing around 14th-16th going down, that to me is a bit more of a farce. Relegation has to be decided on football not geography even if it makes league alignment a tough task

Surely that is the nature of splitting the pyramid geographically though? It will never be 100% fair doing that anyway. I'd imagine out of The National League North & South one is marginally better than the other already and thus you have an advantage being in the weaker league. Its part and parcel of splitting them by region.

But its got to be split somewhere, as noted above, with Truro coming up into NLS Bishop Stortford is nearer Blyth than it is to Truro.

In Spain its east to west which is huge distances. My local team is algeciras and they have to travel to the canary islands and Galicia which are both 2 plus hour flights

Not forgetting Fandaby Dozi
Really liked Dabo when he was here. Best out of the 3 Chelsea loanees. Had some off games that you’d expect from a first loan but could tell he’d go on to do well.
