and to think he saw stfc as the first step to playing in the premier league. he'd be lucky to get a game in the blue square premier league.

That goal! What a night that was! Did he ever really get a proper chance with us? I'm not sure he did (I don't count playing left wing against Wycombe on a cold winters night a real chance).
Real shame for the bloke. I can't believe he's dropped all the way down there (in standard terms) and not managed to at least be a 'jobbing' pro.
Fair play to him though. He chased his dream half way around the world - dragging his family with him - and is man enough to say when enough is enough.

He scored the second goal against Wycombe that night. I thought he was a good player, we never gave him a chance.

Why is this funny btw? He was better than a lot of strikers we had, he generally tried and provided us with a fucking superb goal in the last minute that gave us 2 extra, vital, points last season.
I feel sorry for him tbh. All the best Royce, won't forget that goal for years to come yet.

I don;t think it;s funny at all. Royce was a decent guy and I wish him all the best for the future.
Would love to see that effort that hit a divet and hit the post though!!

Royce was ace. Bundling into the away end after that cracking finish across the keeper at Wycombe endeared him to me. Not to mention the Barnet goal.
It was weird because that cup game against carlisle he missed a couple of chances but had a really good game, I'm sure Sturrock said he liked what he saw then he was consigned to the reserves just like that. Fola never got a look in under Sturrock either did he?
