Their keeper, Connor Ripley seems highly rated and has been released.

I was convinced we have had him loan for like 2 games or something but Wikipedia says I’ve made that up.

That wasn't Ripley, believe it or not.

Are you thinking of Connal Trueman perhaps? One of the least memorable of the season of six keepers.

Nope, whilst I probably would definitely struggled to name all the keepers from that season - in my head this fictional loan for Ripley was further back than that & just as cover for a short injury/suspension.

Had one game on emergency loan up the A420 before being sent back for not being very good!

He played for Sheridan at Oldham - so assume when we went through 17 keepers under Sheridan Ripley’s name probably got mentioned in conversation.

Bizarre memory

Still, he was Morecambe’s POTS and he’s free and we need a keeper.
So based on that - I say we should sign him. 30 isn’t particularly old for a keeper either.

Article on McDonald where he talks about his time at Swindon.

“I could say a lot about what happened at Swindon. But they wanted a few older bodies out the door to bring through the new generation.  “That doesn’t always work if you don’t have a mix of experience and younger lads. From where they were when a few of us left, to where they’ve finished the season (mid-table), you can see that."

“I was really enjoying my time there. They have a great fanbase and I can’t fault the club. But some things behind the scenes helped twist my arm."

If the rumours are true, I'm staggered the terms of his departure don't stop him from doing press for a period of time.

I'm sure most people are across this but Paul Caddis is organising a charity match at the County Ground on Sunday at 7pm for Diabetes research, after his daughter was diagnosed.

Paul Bodin giving it a shout out here: https://twitter.com/T_STBL/status/1656900924172795908

If the poster is anything to go by the line up looks great. Loads of Town legends.
