Post by: paul backskin on Monday, February 27, 2012, 13:08:39
Can anyone tell me what the song for callum kennedy was on saturday? was to the tune of mr saxobeat. only heard it very faintly and couldnt grasp the words. the "don't ya wish you winger was matt richie" was a classy one.

We've updated the Cibochhi one. The second line is now "He's got cracking tweets, has Cibochhi."

Apologies to Liverpool for ripping off their song (a bit), but how about, for Rafa De Vita, to the tune of 'Heartbeat':

Rafa, Rafa De Vita runs down the wing for me (Da da, da da da, da da, da da da) etc?

On the subject of Swindon songs is there one? I mean is there a song that relates only to Swindon - like West Ham have "I'm forever blowing bubbles" and Leeds have "Marching on together"? I'll tell you why - because I really cringed during the play off final a couple of years back when "our song" that they played at the beginning was "Can't help falling in love". Yeah, "our song" and about 20 other teams' song as well. At least Millwall really did have their own song.

happily walked to the ground on saturday following who could only be jayohaitchenn and his mates due to the songs being sung. very enjoyable as myself and my friend were several sheets to the wind at that stage. Saturday night however we went to cheltenham for a few(alot) drinks where we spent the majority of the evening and very early hours chanting the Callum Kennedy song. Boeta was having some problems however. we are still unsure who Alan Kennedy is! keep the songs coming gents! :pint: :pint:  :beers:

You will be glad to know that mid-way through the first half of the match between Harrogate Town v Vauxhall Motors, the crowd of 450 were treated to a sterling version of "Sha la la la la la......Wesley Foderingham!" as news broke of his penalty save.

The good people of Harrogate were also treated to 4am versions of "Alan.....Alan.....Alan McCormack", "I wanna dance with Cibocchi" and "He is Namibian and his name is Oli Risser".

To the tune of 'I will survive' 2nd verse

It took all the strength we had
not to fall apart
kept trying hard to mend
the pieces that were broke by Hart
and we spent oh so many nights
just feeling sorry for ourselves
We used to cry
Now we hold our heads up high
Di Canio
Has saved our club
He's not that chained up little person
the FA wanted though
and so they sent him to the stands
to sit with his Swindon family
now we're saving all our loving
for the mighty Paolo D.

You play wonderfully wonderfully wonderfully well with matt ritchie
You know that'll he'll do anything for you
You link up too with Ferry
A superb midfield three
Running down the right
Defences look shite
It's a wonderful thing, it's a perfect team

Whilst anything that can reference the Cure should be looked on as genius, not sure our young clapaholics would know this. The old goth/punks amongst us would have a field day with this though.

To be fair some of the songs on here are fucking brilliant, and it would be great to hear more of the at the CG.

However, for the JPT Final I believe we need to keep it simple so that the daytrippers & part timers can get involved.

Although we want to forget the Millwall game, there's no doubt that the fact that they only had two songs helped them to make more noise, as every fucker in their end could join in with the oh so irritating "No one Likes us...." & "MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL"

Motivation is low
When The left back rides high
And our crossing, won't go
We will mix up our wings
Scoring different goals

I'm sure there's a song in there somewhere to "Take me home" by Jon Denver, purely based on "Lee Holmes" substituting with "me home".

Come on wordsmiths and lyricists help me out. Mr brian (sic) is battered after a tough working week, it refuses to do much but let me type and dribble.

Holmes, he's Lee Holmes,
back at the place, where he belongs,
Super Swindon, something something...

see.
