I'm still waiting for Paul Duffen to arrive.
My sources understand that he is one of the businessmen in the background, and was at the match last night - the club don't want negative headlines due to his dubious past and rightly so.

Which is precisely why if he is one of the people behind this, we SHOULD know about it.

my sources tell me paul robinson is one of the silent shareholders. he was looking for a challenge since selling his majority stake in the erinsborough news to globe media; the conglomerate behind the west warritah star.

Your original posts suggested he was to be appointed as a director, is this no longer the case?

Seemingly not.
so if you/your source is correct, Duffen is one of the anonymous backers. If this is the case then I'm puzzled why he would publicly give an interview to a national newspaper indicating that he is keen to return to football, only to then do so in anonymity.

edit: tweeted Sam with a question about Duffen and Allen, received this response:

"I am under the impression Duffen may have been considered for a role but had various legal issues, Allen I've not heard."

With regards to players wages, some aren't exactly shy about it - and Swindon is a small place.

Of course that doesn't mean what gets heard is true.

...but...I can see how some of it might get leaked into the public domain.

The Winners could become like a Swindon version of the Phoenix Club.
