I've heard this elsewhere also.

I have to say, the idea of Big Phil taking over fills me with more hope than McLaren/Allardyce/Curbs (tho personally I like Curbs, I just don't think he's right for England).

I'd be happy with that with a few points...

1) He has to be given the chance to mess about in a few friendlies seeing what players are capable off - I'd prefer that to just sticking with a sven friendly, big player team.

2) I hope that the english press get behind him to start of with. He's a lot of the fan's favourite choice, but wouldn't be suprised if a bit of daily mail style anti non-english press coverage occurs.

3) He drops beckham and plays gerrard on the right with carrick and  lampard in the middle and cole on the left... wait that's just what I'd do if I was manager. ignore me.

so yeah. I'm not sure I've actually made a point there. I hope I have.
