That's because there is too many of our midfield players who would rather look for personal glory ahead of the team. That is why Gerrard, who started out as the defensive midfield player, and played in that position in the 2001 5-1 win in Munich, no longer wants to play in that position as he wants to be forward and score goals. Oh come on, that's a shit argument. Gerrard's played the attacking midfield role for Liverpool for 5 years or so now. It's not personal glory, it's just pure individualism. They can't, and don't seem to want to, play as a team. I'd rather 11 inferior players that play well as a team than fielding 11 individuals.

Wholesale changes are an absolute must now. In my opinion Terry, Johnson and Heskey should be nowhere near that team and Lampard and Barry should be fucking dropped from the first team.

wayne rooney - first touch was never with him, also too isolated frank lampard - just shite. didn't seem to do anything positive steven gerrard - stop shooting as soon as you get the ball
i started off angry but by 80 minutes we didn't deserve to have even scored 2. tear it all down and start again

I guess they aren't being paid enough, they only seem to turn up for £100k a week.
It has shown them up for what they are, an average team with one good player who looked hopelessly out of form.

I'd like to say £64 winnings softened the blow but not really. I don't know why, I wasn't expecting us to do much but there we go.
Germany looked a very good counter attacking side and them vs Argentina could be a heck of a game. Ozil is going to be one hell of a player. As for England, I can see blame being thrown everywhere but ultimately I just don't think we had the players. The "Golden Generation" passed in 2006/8, this team haven't really replaced Owen, Neville, Ferdinand, Beckham et al. Particularly worrying is the lack of pace at the back which really cost us today.
Capello is a smart cookie getting the clause removed to get rid of him, but I don't really blame him. Overhyped and overexpected as ever, and I expect the tabloid media to dissolve in a storm of indignation tomorrow and campaign for Harry Redknapp to be manager to push me even further over the edge.
That said, Blatter is still a cunt.

It'll be interesting to see what happens next. Will Capello resign? Will some of the players 'retire' ?
Ultimately, I image we'll blame FIFA and nothing will change.

Lampard and Barry should be fucking dropped from the first team.
Agree about Barry, he was so slow today he was ging backwards, but Lampard...he was the only England player who looked like scoring (and actually did) today. But wholesale changes need to happen. I got to feel sorry for Crouch, considering his international scoring record, that he didn't even get on the field.

We were truly awful. You cannot defend that badly and win a world cup sadly.

you'd hope capello will resign. he's picked some donkey's for this squad and ignored form players. his tactics haven't really given us that extra edge...unlike germany

Fully agree. We made an average German side look like world beaters. Ozil is a good player, but every time they broke they had the freedom of the park

Other than score a perfectly good goal, hit the bar. Whereas the inspirational leader was AWOL for most of the game. Let's be fair the problem in this game was the defense, we gave away two goals that wouldn't have looked out of place in League 2, and then been caught on the counter attack twice.
