Title: Those ground redevelopment plans
Post by: Ardiles on Thursday, June 21, 2007, 16:48:28
You know...the ones in Bowden's head.  After today's outburst, what would you now say the chances are that they will ever leave Bowden's head and become a reality?

I would say approximately nil.  No chance of a ground redevelopment.  Which is hopefully the conclusion Bowden, Diamandis et al are also coming to as well.

Yet another reason to pack your bags, chaps.  On your way.

surely, all they are hanging in there for is the hope of a development with other facilitys for them to coin it in.if not why stay?

Precisely.  And after today, I think it's fair to assume they can forget it...at least in the borough of Swindon anyway.  Despite the club bullshit, it's clear relations hit a new low today.  Swindon Council will not deal with this lot.  They're finished.

I suppose they can claim the "the council don't want to help us so we'll have to move out" line now.

Seems to me the believe Rod Bluh and the other guy (chief exec?) are the key people to 'get into bed with' and that Mr Martin will have no real influence in the matter.

Can't see why else they'd release the statement.

In your head, in your head,
whippy, whippy, whippy,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
whippy, whippy, whippy?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh,
Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, oh, ya, ya-a

I can't see why they would release that statement full stop.

When it comes to STFC, you couldn't slide a piece of paper between Rod Bluh and Nick Martin.

Dearest Gavin does as he is told by the councillors, so it doesn't matter what he thinks.

.

After todays outburst, there is about as much chance of this happening as us signing David Beckham from LA Galaxy this summer.

Hmm, we could do with a right winger who can cross a ball....

Slightly more chance of re-signing Migz from the Crew though

I bet I could. I've got a black belt in origami.

It's all about the rounded inside out triangle folds for the humps. Once you've got the knack it's easy, but it's where many a beginner/intermediate falls down.

i can't do the dromedarys, its just too complex. i can do an elephant, but only indian, can't the africans ears big enough.

The trick with African Elephants is to take into account the extra body folding space you'll need for the longer ears when you're doing the legs. You might end up with slightly shorter legs, but with some clever folding you can overcome this by making them slightly narrower but more shaped.

or just use A3 and make it a fat 'whipsnade' elephant.

As most of the folding is proportionate (1/2's and 1/3's) a bigger bit of paper generally doesn't help much. It's like that trying to fold a bit of paper in half more than 8 times thing.

weirdly i do remember shit like that, and what DNA stands for but couldn't remember to get my hair cut today.

Every time I get my hair cut part of me dies.

If everything turns out all shiney and nice, with the consortium in charge and BillP funding the new stadium.. well can I be in charge of catering or something?

you could charge wembley prices for a death burger.

I think there's a fair bit of potential in a football club doing decent food. Instead of shitty burgers, hot dogs and pies. You've only really got a 15 min pre game and 20min half time to sell it in though. It'd be interesting to give it a try.

it's a niche market and half of them are pissed, if it tastes good and you can eat it without spilling it or requiring cutlery then you may just corner it, the market that is.
