Simpson dropped for the first time in the league? Interesting. Do Stevenage have especially big slow defenders for JML to run at?

Would imagine a lot of players are at different fitness levels & recovery curves at the moment so probably a factor.

Let's hope it's fitness related and not being called back by Ipswich

At first glance that seems a very weird line up - unbalanced to say the least. No Critchlow, so going with 2 CbS. Well, 1 really as Hunt is a square peg - albeit a decent one.

I still think this could be 3 at the back.
Iandolo, Odimayo & Hunt
Payne and KKH wingback.
Reed and East sitting.
Gladwin, JML and Mckirdy the *attacking* trio.

I think most of the slightly older Town fans will never forget the debacle under Muckmahon in 98 when they turned us over at home in really windy conditions which Digby couldnt get to grips with all game when we were in the Championship and them in the Conference.
Jesus was that 23 years ago (didn't go to the STFC v stevenage game but did go to the NUFC v Stevenage game in the next round. Sent from my SM-A125F

Payne as a wingback? Christ! It’s got to be, as far as possible, Iandolo and KKH plus Hunt and Odimayo as a back 4.
Reed and East protecting.
McKirdy, Gladwin and Payne behind JML.
I’d like JML to come good. On the few occasions I’ve watched him he’s got most everything apart from an ability to actually score.

I’d hazard a guess that Garner thinks it’s an easier gig tonight for JML and saving Simpson for Cobblers on Saturday. We don’t know whose fitness levels are up to it.
