Title: Paul Sturrock story...
Post by: @MacPhlea on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, 14:39:36
A mate of mine is a Forest fan and went down to Argyle to watch them this weekend... on his way to the ground he pulled in to refuel and noticed this big BMW in front of him with Sturrock filling up. Just as Sturrock was putting the hose pipe back in to the pump stand he began muttering a string of abusive explitive's and continued to do so as he went to pay.

Turns out he had just filled his diesel BMW up with Petrol and had to leave his car their for the dealership to pick up and get a cab to the game - apparently the garage had yellow pumps for low sulphur petrol and he thought is was diesel - easy mistake I guess but everyone knows that yellow is good for nothing - just look at poxford :D

MALPAS OUT!

I bet he puts in the correct petrol in his car every time. That's not the style of a good football manager.

Surely the national standard for diesel is a black handle? Even my missus can get that one right.

Then again, maybe it was the Parkinsons.

Nah mate

it would have ended up all over the forecourt and none in the tank if that was the case

Hasn't a supermarket, sainsbury's I think, use yellow for diesel. They class it as city diesel.

Personally, I find the easiest way is to read the clearly labelled sign above the pump.

Ive put diesel in a petrol tank before its an easy mistake to make...especialy when these dippy forecourts dont label them properly...do what they do in other countrys and have the diesel pumps away from the petrol pumps.......but thats to easy i spose.
