Looks as if Virgil isnt going to make it ... so useless captain Freddy will continue (couldnt Strauss have a go?)

Anderson and Lewis also ruled out

A defeat in this one will most likely rule us out of the chance of a final place as it would mean a bonus point victory and a massive increase in run rate in the final match v NZ would be required ... or even more unlikely .. a win over the Convicts!

Still dont know what Joyce and Nixon are doing out there.

Recall for Ramps anyone?

We really need to win this badly. It does look like Vaughan, Anderson and Lewis are out of the game. Anyone see the game yesterday my god Jacob Oram batted well with 100 off 71 balls.

My team would be
Loye
Strauss
Bell
Collingwood
Bopara
Flintoff
Dalrymple
Read
Plunkett
Tremlett
Panesar.

Two Spinners on a spinners wicket which did turn yesterday.

Can i just ask what it is the englands captain job is?

Sorry to be ignorant but i dont have a clue about cricket. As far as i knew they had selectors to pick players and that fletcher bloke gave them the match tactics

Am i right? I am being serious i dont have a fucking clue

Fundamentally you're correct, but the captain has a role in selection, and when in the field he has too decide on any bowling changes, set the field, and basically be the coach on the pitch, to put it in a nutshell.  COmpared to football the cricket captaincy is a much more complicated job.

I agree with Nixon, he's a good Cricketer but surely taking someone younger would be better in the long run?

And Joyce has done it at county level hence why he's in the OD side.

As for a recall for Ramprakash..... Soapy Tit Wank

i read that the selectors offered flintoff the ODI captaincy hoping that he'd decline, but he didn't. if that's true, well, i can't blame him for taking it, but jesus, these selectors really do need to grow some balls.

I suspect the players think the same.....lose the rest of the games and get on the first plane home......unfortunately there's a WC to suffer, before we can get down to the real stuff of the timeless rituals of the English "summer"

How my pulse quickens and the sap of youth stirs in the loins, at the thought of Lavinia, Duchess of Norfolk's XI  v West Indians at Arundel at the onset of May.

with dalrymple batting below collingwood and bopara you should be an england selector ultra

rymps at 4 if anyone has got any sense. which they obviously haven't

no lewie and anderson are again huge blows

i'd drop strauss and collingwood with no second thoughts if there was anyone decent out there; benning and shah for instance
