I used to play piano as a kid, got pretty decent but stopped as I got bored at around 15/16. I really regret it now. I did buy a digital piano last year to try and take it back up, but it's in the loft currently as I have nowhere to put it.
My brother in law is a professional drummer and teaches for a living. He's played in Swindon bands for years and also played recently in a band with Dave Gregory of XTC fame.
BIL isn’t Chris by any chance?

I've got an electric guitar and have been at the same very bad plateau for 20 years. If you're after maximum annoyance I'd go for a recorder

Played guitar for 25 odd years. I’ve no natural talent but I’m solid enough with all those years of practice.
I’d highly recommend getting some lessons and learning how to play. I was taught by a guy called Mike Strange. Don’t know if he’s still about

I know 3 of the original members of Pigbag quite well, both the sax players and the trumpeter.
They formed in Cheltenham and one of their first gigs was in Swindon in 1981.

So is the Papas got a ... a Pigbag original?
I thought they'd sampled from James Brown's Papas got a brand new bag. But having listened to I I don't think so.
Also, the tune is stuck in my head with "Andy Caton" substitution. Thanks.

Not really such a thing as sampling back in 81 mate, not until the advent of computers in the mid 80s did that really become "a thing".

I have a Technics KN 2600 keyboard which I play as a piano mostly, although it has lots of other capability. It takes up little space, and I sing horribly to chords from sheet music when nobody's about.
