I actually didn't think it was that shit. I mean it's not a classic, but it does have its moments. its visually spectacular, and the soundtrack is ace.

Yeah, love that film. The soundtrack is immense, the CGI is out of this world and it's got Olivia Wilde. Ok, so the story isn't the strongest, but I've watched it more times than I'd care to admit.

And that'll teach me to listen to others. Enjoyed it quite a lot, effects were superb including Clu, although he was stuck in the Uncanny Valley! Sheen was channeling a whole heap of Bowie in that performance...

I watched Transcendence last night. I didn't check the Rotten Tomatoes reviews first (although I'd still have watched it) but it was really, I don't know, vapid?

It wasn't a film where once it ended you'd sit back and think about it for a moment. It was a film that was turned off the second the credits start because you've been thinking about that pile of washing up that needs doing. I'll have completely forgotten about this film in a few days.

I watched Battle Royale (been on the list for years, cracking watch) and The Rise (Wastlands) last night. I assumed The Rise was going to be a pile of wank about 'gangsters' having a pop at each other, but was pleasantly surprised to be wrong, and really quite enjoyed it. A bit far fetched but that's kind of the point I guess.

I'm watching 12 Years a Slave for the first time and although it's harrowing and the slave trade was obviously an abhorrent thing, I couldn't help myself laughing at Fassbender chasing Solomon around and falling over all slapstick. Kind of tonally dissonant in a film where half an hour later we watch him graphically whipping someone's back to ruin.

It's a really good film and all, but, from my perspective at least, it's not as good as the press it's got. A lot of long camera shots with no movement from actor or cameraman and no dialogue apparently make for oscar bait.

Also as soon as Brad Pitt's character appeared I knew he was a good guy. I bet he doesn't fudging work a film unless he's a good guy. Predictable.

I haven't seen a really good film for ages. Plenty of OK movies but nothing mega enjoyable.

Last one I saw was Gravity which was pap

Watched Noah last night. What a let down.

I am a massive fan of Darren Aronofsky but he's let himself down with this one. It had moments of Aronofsky brilliance but it was just dragged out too much.

'Starred Up' is the best film I've seen lately. Quality British prison movie, reminded me of the classic McVicar. Only better.

Also well worth watching is 'Lone Survivor'. Yanks against the Taliban, based on true story. Bloody good.

Just watched lone survivor. Some of the bravery of these guys is unreal at times.
