Title: Chrisy Taylor joins Newport's Finest
Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, March 31, 2005, 17:18:27
John Cornforth ex-Swansea and Newport County manager, the backbone of many of my early Champ Man teams.

Gone on loan for a month, looks like he may be the first on the way out at this stage.  Decent standard and all but with his academy days over in the summer it could well be with an eye to looking for pastures new.

Remember King speaking very highly of him a few years back but looks like another that may not have made the grade.

I don't know what it is but we seem to produce small players all the time.....I recall Taylor playing against my kid in a school game years ago and one of the locals telling me to look out for this kid because he's good.

But he's not got much bigger in the intervening years, and you have to be very very good to make it as a small player..

Reminds me a lot of Oggy Hunt.

Perhaps theyre not feeding them the right stuff!

With King at the helm I could well imagine a few Jack Charlton-esque Harry Ramsden challenges every week.

Its not exactly a univesal truth, because we've had Viveash Mildenhall and Andrew Thompson in recentish years who were tall......I reckon their mothers smoked during pregnancy.

I am rubbish, but even i could cope with Taylor in U15 footy, just after he signed his forms on the County G pitch. His attitude is all wrong.

Played well at the weekend reading the reports.

But Jason Bowen gave a virtuoso first-half display, capped by a 36th minute equaliser created by Antonio Corbisiero, and new arrival from Swindon Chris Taylor excited the fans with some enterprising work on the left.

Quote

The winger clipped the cross-bar with a 22nd minute effort and was a constant threat to Havant.

Cornforth was delighted with all his players and said: "I can't fault any of them, but Chris was outstanding and you won't see a better goal than Jason's.
