BBC3, 7 O'clock.  Hardly the most exciting prospect but at this time of year I'll take any football I can get.  Will anyone else be watching?

South Africa were abysmal against Iraq.

There was an interesting article in WSC recently about the South African's. Apparently this will be the first World Cup where the hosting nations football fanbase won't give a shit about their own national team - they'll pick other teams to support.

(New Zealand) Have you ever seen a group of players look bored during their own national anthem?

I was initially interested by the fact that the only white in the SA side seemed to be booed everytime he touched the ball.  Took a while to realise because he is called Booth.

In other news - North Korea have qualified for the World Cup.

...Haven't made the Finals since '66 - Italy, Ayresome Park and all that.

They'll be dancing in the streets of Pyongyang... If only we knew.

I seem to remember (although giving great support to their own teams) a large number of South Koreans and Japanese supported other teams too!
