They are in such disarray that I'm really not convinced that the arguments in favour of a follow on not following on are that strong.  If we do manage to get the final three wickets in the next 10 to 15 overs of play, we could get them back in and maybe take a few scalps from their top order while they're still reeling.  Manage that, and the game could be as good as over by the end of the 2nd day.

You are always going against the belief however unlikely that Aus could somehow wangle a lead of 150-200 then England are chasing on a waring wicket becoming more partial to going up and down as well as encouraging turn.

You'd have never caught the 90s/early 00s Australian sides batting again. I say go for the jugular as Ardiles intimated above.

Anyway, in 2000+ Test matches teams have enforced the follow on and and lost only 3 Times.

And all 3 times it was the Aussies  Cheesy

Most memorably against India in 2001 at Kolkata when VVS Laxman and Dravid batted all through a day.

The Aussies havent enforced the follow on since to many times.

My 375 was a masterpiece of punditry.  I haven't got a fucking clue, and should never be let anywhere near a betting shop.

(Actually, my record there isn't that bad.  The last time I placed a bet in a bookies was at the start of the 1995/96 season when I put a £5 bet on a 12/1 that we would win the league that year.  Much to the disgust of the chap behind the desk, I collected my winnings 9 months later from a branch in Bristol.)

It's the second day. At Lords. In fantastic sunshine which is set to stay for the weekend.

They're not going to enforce the follow-on and end this two days early are they?
